Hi

I am new to warhammer and bought myself the Warhammer 40k Dark Vengeance starter kit. I wanted to add a model to my chaos space marines and bought this model www.games-workshop.com/en-AU/Chaos-Space-Marines-Daemon-Prince

I cant find the stats in the codex?
Will this be a good addition to my army?

Thanks

That sir is one of my all time favourite models, the classic metal daemon prince. It has been superseded by the newer plastic daemon prince kit which come with loads of options but it is still perfectly usable and is the same size and proportions as the newer kit.
The one downside of the model is its lack of wings, most players prefer their daemon princes to be equipped with them for the added speed but you can happily use him without or kitbash some onto the model if you enjoy that sort of thing. Another option is to just play him as if he has wings, say he is great at jumping or that the pack on his back doubles as a jump pack, or that he uses psykic powers to levitate across the battlefield, he's a prince of the dark gods, there are many ways other than wings for him to move fast so most opponents shouldn't complain.

In your codex he should be on page 123 just before the chaos lord, just titled "Daemon Prince".

Hope my ramblings have been of some use :-)

yeah tahts just a basic daemon prince

Yes that is the right profile, but please do not post full rules and data sheets, GW gets salty when you do.

To many unpainted models to count.

These rules are from an older edition of the game. They're no longer valid.

You need to buy the most recent Chaos Daemons or Chaos Space Marines codex in order to get the Daemon Prince datasheet.

[quote=NoiseMarine with Tinnitus 753795 9901715 As you are new to the forums you can be forgiven but I would like to politely direct you to the forums rules. Probably best you have a quick skim over them.

Dakka doesn't do posting swathes of rules on the forums.

My Apologies

No worries. Just post enough rules to allow the unit to be identified.

Thanks...

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

As you get into 40k you'll notice a daemon prince is much better off with wings.

There are loads of companies online that sell wings as bits you could model on.

The classic plastic dragon wings fit that model with little to no greenstuff.

I got that one, did a fast conversion with what I had in my bitbox. And now its a flying daemonprince with wings.

I live in South Africa, getting anything warhammer related is very difficult and rare.

As I said previously, I'm am a total noob regarding Warhammer. Have only been playing for a month now.

So what I understood I should use the Daemon Prince rules on page 123 of the Chaos codex. It would have a Hellforged Sword and Malefic Talons. If I stick wings on him, where does the codex explain his movement.
