Getting awesome deals on Hardcover Codex's and newer rules editions. I been Sniping auctions. Just picked up 4th and 6th edition 40k rules for $10 each shipped. Plus got nice Apocalypse hardcover for 7.50 shipped Having been away for awhile these books are really high quality even compared to the older editions. Like all the fold outs and the little nylon page keepers a nice touch. Any one that says Games work shop is over priced doesn't know how to bargain shop. Well, I still say BFG is overpriced.

I still feel spoiled with the book pricing( the minis are a another story). Back in my day after walking 3 miles, in the badlands, running from Tyranids, in the snow. We had to pay like 50 dollars for Rogue Trader softcover and it wasn't even all color. We didn't even have proper models. We had to build our speeders out of deodorant case's....

I did get a nice coppy of Epic Armageddon for $20. My 3rd edition books we're like $5 max.

You cousins across the pond get good deals on the books I think. Yeah, I tend to only go for the OOP stuff. Wish I could afford a BFG Imperial Fleet. Those things are worth more then silver now weight for weight.

I save my eBay sniping for characters.

Last year I managed to pick up An'ggrath for a tasty £60 and almost got his Tzeentchy brother for £70 but I got counter sniped.

Bought a eBay lot of guardsmen a bit ago, they were broken up a bit and some weren't even guardsmen. All said and done, after fixing them up and stripping paint, I ended up with 60 guard and about 20 garbage models for $55. They were in pretty rough shape, but they look good enough now.

Yeah. Been stocking up.

2 NIB Grey Knights Strike Squads for ~$30 each.

2 NIB Nemesis Dreadknights for ~$40 each.

1 Used Nemesis Dreadknight for ~$35, magnetized.

1 NIB Stormraven for ~$40.

2 NIB Deathwatch Kill Teams for ~$30 each.

2 Used Corvus Blackstars for ~$80 total.

Current GK Codex for ~$25.

7th ed Deathwatch Codex for ~$10.

Loads of Deathwatch and GK bits - everything but backpacks - for about ~$20 total.

NIB Voldus, a Deathwatch Captain, other characters for ~$60 total.

With shipping, I might have spent $525. Helps that GK are not popular right now, and no one really cares about DW / Inquisition. In most cases, I haven't been sniping, I was the only bidder.

Yup, somehow I managed to be the only bidder on a set that included 20 3rd edition Stormtroopers, 6 metal Ogryn, 2 metal Enginseers, the Commissar holding the power fist and the book, and the old Female Commissar model. All for 100 bucks.

That and all those 15-20% flash coupons ebay has been doing of late has netted me a fair bit of goodies. Not good for auctions, but nice getting an extra copy of Forgebane for 30% off total.

I got better deals around 2007ish.... Not so much lately.

Um, you are aware GW made big batch of these recently, significantly lowering price? Maybe it was 'normal' price a year or two ago, but today, 125$ for 10 is a robbery...

I got incredible nid bargains from Sanctus Reach. Got 18 warriors for the price of about 6 normally.

Very disappointed at the high cost of skitarii from Forgebane, Was hoping to cash in and pick up loads but they're going for £13+ which is only @£5 less than I can pick up a brand new box for. Was hoping for an avalanche and auctions closing at £5 shipped. Did get 2 tech priest domini for less than the retail on 1 which is decent I think.

Necron players should be laughing though, Forgebane crons being given away on eBay at the moment.

As for sniping. Never do anything else. No idea why anyone places a bid earlier as it just leads to higher prices.

I may have just gotten 3 2nd ed Eldar War Walkers for 45US. I'm pretty excited about that.

I got a huge khorne army for 65$, the poster showed the old battle box that was supposed to come with rhino, 8 beserkers, 10 chaos marines, a lord and a defiler, but said in the post he took the defiler out and was replacing it with some bikers. I figured for 60$ that's a reasonable price.

But when I got it it had

4 bikers
60 beserkers (40 chain axes, 20 chain swords)
3 srg 's with power fists
Rhino
Kharn the betrayer

For 65$ shipped it was a steal. I still can't believe he did not just post what actually was being sold, he could definitely have gotten more for that listing.

And thats why I now own a world eaters army. :p

Oh lord yes I have,

50 or so metal Blood Angels Death Company (to be used as Tacticals and Devastators) for around $15 for 10. I did have to strip them all, but that wasn't a big deal since I am never going to run all 118 of them at once.

Metal Dreadnoughts for around $10 a few months ago. Bought four of them, took the weapons I wanted to make Twin-Las/Powerfist, and sold off the Multi-Melta/Missile Launchers for the same price I bought all 4 of them at.

Metal Sanguinary Priest NIB for $5

Metal Mephiston for $8

Old Land Raider Crusader metal upgrade bits for $15, needed the twin Assault Cannon, and all the Hurricane Bolters got turned into Storm Bolters for my vehicles to avoid the silly $7-8 price tag on a Storm Bolter bit plus mount.

Devastator Missile Launchers for $1.75 from Germany. I needed 12 of them.

Most of my 120+ man Tallarn army came from eBay at fair prices. However I seriously lucked out and got 3 boxes of them for free. I bought a lot of Tallarn blisters at a good price... but they were likely at a good price because there were a few models miscast in them. Contacted GW, showed them pictures of the blisters and models, and they sent a whole new box of 10 per blister that had a guy messed up in them. The customer service lady I talked to was so insanely helpful and kind. I told her I only needed a single box to replace all the messed up sculpts since they were all guys with Lasguns. She wanted none of that and shipped me the three boxes instead.

Man, the last couple of months to a year on eBay has been VERY kind to me.

Been trying to snipe Eldar BFG stuff, but minimal luck so far on finding enough frigates and escorts!

Not on Ebay, but I got both Realms of Chaos books for a pound each on a bring & buy stall at a wargames show a few years ago.

I'm waiting for people to start having trouble selling their Rangers from Forgebane so I can go crazy and run a massive skitarii blob army. I got 50 for $85 shipped a few days ago.

I got 5 Spores for 10$ on ebay. These can be all kinds of useful for biovores, or as meiotic spores, mucolid spores, etc. Two dollars a pop is great. It would have taken more of an investment for me to go with plan B, which was toothpicks + peanuts.
