I have been making a few list ideas for a 2000 point MT centered army for 8th edition. I was wondering how other, more experienced players would come at this task?

The rules are that you:
-can't do a soup list
-can only take units that either have the Militarum Tempestus keyword or IG units which do not interfere with regimental doctrines (Auxillia, Ministorum, Aeronautica Imperialis, etc.)
-can't take a brigade detachment
-can have a max of 3 detachments

If the truth can destroy it, then it deserves to be destroyed.

I would not bother at all. There are too many restrictions for a 2000 pts. You will just not be able to assemble a working army according to them. Any decent 2000 pts army will shred you to pieces without breaking a sweat.

Three Battalion detachments stuffed with Scions, Command Squads, Taurox Primes and Tempestor Primes seems to be the answer you're looking for. What else can you do?

I can’t quite think of anything else without using too much points, I wanted to see if anybody else had any ideas.

I'd think about taking an Air Wing here. Could take some Thunderbolts for some anti-tank shooting, and Valkyries to drop down Bulgryns.

If FW is in question, it's always good to take some Vultures to mow down hordes.

Yeah, forgeworld is good, just as long as it does not violate the stated rules.
