Ok, so I've got half a forgebane box of Necrons with another half on the way. Thinking of using an 80's Synthwave style to paint them but honestly don't know where to start. I'm thinking I should leave some joints metal and do the plates with a dark blue/purple edged with pink With teal or orange for glowy bits. Almost think this might be a good time to learn NMM as well since I think it'd match better than using metallic paints.

Does anyone know of any paints that might work for this? Thinking kantor blue or naggorath night for the panel basing and up the Vallejo fluo pink to line the panels. Any other GW or other brand paints that would match the Synthwave palette?

Also stuck on basing. Would be cool if there were a way to do the gridlines but I'm thinking maybe those plastic crystal shards?

That paint scheme sounds cool and exciting. Kenny Boucher has some great videos. Here's a video he did on purple. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huLqsLlkMkk

As for basing, the "factory" green stuff roller from green stuff world could be a nice fit

Yeah, that video looks really close to what I'm wanting to do. Would probably look really sharp on the Necron fliers/monolith/t vault.

Thinking the hexagons or trihex rollers might fit the theme better. Tron-like highlights around the hexes. Wish I had thought to look at the rollers earlier, just ordered some paints from them last week.

That purple in the video is really cool I'd love to see your Necrons if you go with that style, please post an update.
