This roughly comes to 1200 points of what I have right now with a few purchases needed. I would like to bring it up to 1500 pts but right now just focused on completing what I have and making a manageable 1200 pt list. My next purchase would probably be a Cadian defense force box which would give me the infantry I need, another tank to work with, more heavy weapons and another chimera to potentially convert to a hellhound. Do the bullgryns prevent this army from being battleforged and if I actually want to run bullgryns is three too few? Comments? Criticism? Ideas for models still on sprue? I'm a new player to 40k and really have only the reading/videos I've done online to go by so far. I believe I actually set this up as a brigade. As far as relic and warlord trait. Probably kurovs aquilla, grand strategist and lost cadia split b/t 3 HQs using the stratagem for extra relic.

HQ Slot
2x Company Commander (laspistol, chainsword) (modelled)
1x Primaris Psyker (Mental barrier, nightshroud) (need to buy)

Elite Slot
1 Priest (chainsword, las pistol) (need to buy)
3x Bullgryns (Power maul, slabs) (On sprue)
1x Company Command Squad (Sniper x2, Standard, Vox) (Modelled, mostly painted)

Fast Attack
2x Armoured Sentinel w/ Lascannon (one on sprue, need to buy other one)
Need another fast attack considering converting chimera into hellhound w/ inferno cannon and heavy flamer which is on sprue.

Heavy Support
2x LRBT w/ Lascannon and Bolter Sponsons (1 painted/modelled, 1 on sprue)
1x Heavy Weapon Squad 3x Mortars (Modelled, painted)

Troops
2x Infantry(10man) Lascannon, Plasma, Vox (Modelled and mostly painted)
2x Infantry(10man) Grenade Launcher (modelled/painted)

I'd use the chimera for the bullgryns and priest, or another nasty surprise and just rock a 3rd sentinel, which is more points effective.

I'd roll with the medic too personally.

I'd agree with Slip, get a priest and a Chimera, and smash face. As for your other fast attack, I will do my token of suggesting Rough Riders, because I love Rough Riders. And they're stupidly better in this edition. Though I'd agree with Slip in just run a third armored sentinel. Good bit of either soak or annoyance for your enemy.

Though I can't agree with Slip in bringing a medkit. By the time your characters are getting shot your army should be dead. And otherwise you're spending a decent chunk of points to 50/50 bring back units that cost few points. They should just be shooting and dieing. To quote General Sturnn "We stand the line, and we die fighting. It is what we do best, we die standing."

And just to tell you the Primaris cannot take either of those relics and I don't have my book on me but if I remember correctly he can't take the Astra Militarum warlord traits, but I might be remembering incorrectly.

Imay be incorrect but the medipack could be useful keeping HWT and Plasma gunners alive.

E: I'd also love your feedback on my list if you have time. You can find it here. If I'm wrong about the medipack I would change my list as well. I do run Mordians tho, maybe they have more use for a medipack than Cadians?

I'll answer here then I'll go have a look at your list. Yes med packs can bring back plasma, but he has 2 plasma in his army, not a particularly good investment for a medkit. Not to mention that they're going to be protected by the meat shield of you picking other units first.

Medkits can be used to heal an injured heavy weapons team, but only heal, they can only "bring back" models that are single wound. If they're in infantry squads than they have 8 or so wounds to go through before they take one. Also if they're putting that much fire into a squad, it's to kill your plasma, or heavy weapons, and they're guardsmen, there's a good chance they're all gonna be dead. And if you stick them with heavy weapons teams, they are a bit more protected by being far away, but if they start taking serious fire you are not likely to be able to keep them alive with one extra wound. And you don't' really want your command squad sitting back with them. Though that's less of a problem since they have snipers in his squad.

Oh, also drop the voxs, they're almost completely useless with only two in the army.

Thanks guys. I think I will rock the chimera for the time being but definitely want to experiment with hellhounds later on. I can split up relics and warlord trait between two company commanders if that's the case with them. As far as vox goes I was thinking I could have 3 rows of infantry with the las plas being more static, the front line possibly with a move, move, move order being the naked infantry followed up by the two squads with grenade launchers. Then put the two vox in the front two squads and keep 1 CC with las plas and mortars and the other CC in the midst of the grenade launcher squads. But if it's really not efficient I can drop them. I agree with the medkit in that I would like to be able to use it but it's just not worth using on fairly regular humans. As far as my company command squad the standard and snipers could stand behind the las plas squads. I would definitely rock rough riders if they had plastic cadians just not sure how I feel getting Krieg guys even though they look awesome or kit-bashing some. Right now it's just more efficient for me to just grab another sentinel.

You guys don't seem to mind the stationary armoured sentinel Las platforms. But I think I'll just magnetize the weapons and try different combos, see how much I miss having the scout move. My idea behind going armoured w/ lascannon is just to have something with a little bite and staying power to complement the Leman Russ. But overall pretty happy how my core is shaping up. I appreciate the input guys!
