And this question really applies to any big models with splindly, thin bits. How on earth do you keep it from breaking while transporting and playing? The whips on this guy extend a few clear inches from the model, and are tiny in thickness. Ive already had to reglue it back on once, and that was just bringing it home.

Pin it and slide that piece off for transport. Assuming it's thick enough to pin.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

My An'ggrath model has the Axe and his Whip pinned, though he has the regular bloodthirster whip instead of his original one.

Maybe magnets at the base? A little greenstuff should conceal it.

Ni have the whip for the standard BT, so if the whip breaks hard enoigh ill just replace it outright.

This is probably one of my biggest pet peeves. A gaming miniatures company which, far too often, forgets that these are gaming miniatures first, display pieces second.

I wouldn't say An'grrath is a gaming miniature first, display piece second. The FW exalted greater daemons are clearly designed as more of a display piece than a gaming one.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I 100% realized it was a display piece more than not. I plan on playing this guy twice this year, and one of those is Apocalypse. I play almost weekly.

I've had mine for four years now. Still in the bag. Just the idea of assembling it gives me a headache.

But at least when you do finish the model, you'll be able to proudly display it on the tabletop... Before it is immediately blown off the board.

I'd say something like an office file box. Something like this:

Look at the current citadel transport case. The collapsible foam is also available as soundproofing insulation. For $10, you can get a sheet and wrap it around in a shoebox to protect a model of any size.

For Angrath specifically, I have seen him transported using eggcrate foam. The whips, spicy bits, and other extremities fit well between the creases.

How are you transporting it? Foam, or magnets?

I think the foam may be the way to go. A model this expensive deserves a custom carrying box
