I'm sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, but I've looked through several threads and having seen this discussed.

What if the new restriction of deep strikers only coming down in their deployment zone on turn 1 only affected the player who got the first turn? So then the person that goes second in the first round is not bound by this restriction.

This would do 2 things:

1) Going second actually gets some sort of bonus (not much, but a start)
2) Both players get to have one turn of using their models and moving them before deep strikers can land in the neutral zone or their deployment zone

Thoughts? I think this would limit the alpha strike somewhat as both players have a chance to react and play for the drop without the giant handicap of the second player having to absorb 2 rounds of firepower if their army relies on this type of strategy.

Gunline opt to take second. Screws melee deepstrikers. Uses its own deepstrikers and shooting.

What is this meant to fix? Do you have some examples from using the new rules?
