So I got all the primaris marines in the starter box set. Gonna get some Las preds for my anti vehicle/monster and use the hellblasters to if need be for lighter vehicles so what unit is best bang for my points for dedicated anti infantry melee shredding. Death company, sanguinary guard or some vanguard vets? The vets can equip storm shields making them more resilient. What load out to for the squads is best value for points?

Depends on what you need and who you are facing.
Sanguinary guard are really tough to kill if you give them the 5+ FNP banner and they hit hard, but are super expensive and thus no good againgst hoards.
Death company are excellent hoard killers and cheaper.
If I was playing pure BA I would try to take both since they serve different purpose's.
In your case, since you have primaris marines to shoot hoards up, i'd probably go with sang guard and their buffing characters.

What load out would you equip the sanguinary guard with, all power swords?

If you're planning on making sure they get a form of rerolls (which you should), then powerfists all the way. If you're not going to support them with rerolls...*sigh*...encarmine swords.

SG basic loadout is fine. A must have is the SG ancient as your warlord with the standard of sacrifice. All SG models within 6" of the ancient will get a 5+++, and they will re-roll all failed hit rolls, and wound rolls of 1 in the fight phase.

So power fists with their special angelus boltgun or change the gun on some for their pistol options which I think are plasma and infernus? Automatically Appended Next Post: Also think I may throw in a few swords with the fists. Even though buffed I can get re rolls to hit I still may miss on the second attempt of a 4 plus rather than the 3 plus needed with the swords.

I use two different squads intermittently, sometimes both in one game. One of 6 fists with 2 inferno pistols, one of 6 swords, with no special pistols. I might add another box to bump them up to 8, in which case I’d add two plasma pistols to the sword squads.
My DC are all bolter and chainsword, no special weapons.
Vanguard, as martel has mentioned in other threads, are only worth it if you are planning to leverage their access to lightning claws and storm shields.

SG are also very nice with a libby warlord.
Of the three, the vanguard are very weak to regular bullets, which makes me very sad. If course, my games are having fewer and fewer regular bullets in them.
DC are the chaff breakers, but now they have to roll the dice on forlorn fury. I'm not really sure what to think with them.

Just got to try and find a load of power fists now that will fit with the SG. Most power fists on ebay are for the wrong arm unfortunately.

1 in each SG box, 1 in vanguard veteran boxes, 1 in death Company boxes (that don’t work that great unfortunately, they have a stupid pose that messes with the pauldron a bit).
