Has anyone used the vortex beasts in games? If so are they good? Would you use over a mailerfiend?

Yes I have, and yes they are great. They are both use able as a "support" unit and a straight up mortal wound dealing beast. They also can hold their own in a fight against all but the biggest enemy units. And for 150 pts, yes they are totally worth it.
