Do you guys think using a Khorgorath as a GCS would be okay? I'm not certain on the size of the actual FW model, but I'd like to use one.

The Giant Spawn is actually about Maulerfiend size. And seeing how tge Khorgorath is about helbrute sized...You do the math

Just thought of this. The helbrute is about as tall as a maulerfiend just not as long. I don't think it would be an issue.

get the base, put two Khorgoraths on it

or maybe sprinkle a Khorgorath abd some gribblies like hounds etc

Here is a size comparison for you. It comes on a 100mm base, so if you can fill that up, you should be good.
