I am curious, is such a saturated red an effect of good photo lighting or is it a paint that pops this well? I don't have any
GW paints so I couldn't try those but out of all the different brands I had I couldn't achieve that kind of bright saturated red on a scrap test mini.
Out of curiousity I checked the
GW paint app and if you choose paint by color you can pick scarlet and you will see this result, but if you pick bright red its much darker, even though they both list the same paints used.
It makes me question if such a red saturation comes from the paint or the bright lighting of the photo.
Anybody here who can achieve that look on there mini? Any ideas?
edit: a third option, it might be photo editing:(
Automatically Appended Next Post: Okey guys, i guess i can answer my own question.
I found out this was painted by paul Norton and on his twitter he said he used mephiston red, evil sunz, troll slayer etc. So no special paint.
And when i google regular guys photos of minis painted with these colors it does not look as bright and saturated. So i assume that its the extremely good studio lighting that gives this look.
