So it seems most are hailing the Primaris band wagon for DW.

What about us that have 1000's or over 10000 points of marines? (Specifically dedicated to DW).

Thought would start a thread of those who don't want to run Primaris (like me who has over 9k, more like 12k non Primaris DW marines)

For norm vet squads the reduction in points to 16 (+1 for bolter SIA) was what hoped. I'm really curious if we get shotguns exchange for free (fun choice), if stalker pattern boltguns get sniper and if captains are able to get stalker pattern boltguns among other things (eg all Termies/vanguard/bikers etc was expected to be inline with Space marines as well + cost for SIA).

Discounting the what if's. What are your Non-Primaris DW armies going to run? I have a lot of thoughts (my standard 2k DW army got a 130+ point decrease in points, cause was mostly troops. My competitive DW army got less but was still significant), but thought would ask the community what would you run?

Shotgun went: 5-3
Termies only: 31?
Stalker: Same cost etc but extra -1 AP
Storm bolter: 2 more points but has SIA

I think shotguns just when down 1 point.

The real gem for Veterans is looking like the storm bolter which just got SIA and should cost 4 points.

I know I honestly haven't done the math or anything (1pt vs 4pts) atm but just tonight I made up 6 new DW marines with Storm bolter & Chainsword cause was bored (got to paint them still)

At the moment I was starting think about buying Know No Fear box set to grab cheap Primaris... One Primaris per killteam.. For a example, Shooting team will have Intercessor with them and Inceptor will with Assault team for better platform..

It will look silly, I know.

So according to previews terminators only went down to 31pts (compared to 26pts for their marine equivalent) and then have to pay 4pts for a SIA stormbolter? That seems off, really hoping that the 31pts is with the +4pts for stormbolter. Only downside is that the vengeance round is not great on the turn they deepstrike (as your RF range would then be 9") so probably Hellfire rounds being used initially followed by vengeance.

Would like more info on Blackshields to see if they can take the Hvy Thunderhammer.

Corvus seems really pricey compared to other fliers, surprised it only came down 10pts.

I am going to take 2 units of Primaris....1 in teleportarium with close range loadouts, and 1 long range variant. Doubt I will get a Repulser or Redemptor however so most of my force will be non-primaris.

It seems from reviews you cant mix Primaris and normal squads. If you mean have say one Primaris squad in amongst your many pure vets then if have to bend... bend (but that is heresy!!!). I can't condone heretical musings.

But everyone gets upset when I put pine cones and cow pies on the table to represent Primaris. There are some limits.

As for what I would like to run, I 'm thinking of a couple of squads full of storm bolters and with a couple vets with storm bolters and storm shields to deepstike.

I'm also planning on running a razor back or rhino with a similar composition similar to the deepstrikers but with a couple frag cannons since they, along with vengence rounds, won't work with deepstrike.

This, I think, is one of the most important things.

I have a Chaplain dread (Forge world). I have magnetised but: 2x storm bolters & 2 DCW and is a Character is now viable for cheapish unit I think now. Was below average before (even with different weapon options) but has some more viability now.

Ye storm bolters never had it before so have to adhere to the normal rules. At 4 pts each makes it still kinda expensive for plebs but does add some punch to standard termies.

A few places I've read said you had to double/half before you add/subtract so Rapid Fire would trigger at 6" for Vengeance rounds and 18" for Krakken.

Always add or subtract range (depends on round using), then calculate half range from that. Don't quote me but if that is debated....must be (would say something to get people mad so decline to say)
