I've been basing all of my list making off of escalating from 750 to 2000, for every army that I own. It's time for me to start cleaning out the stuff I'm no longer using and force myself to stay within the confines of models that I've purchased (at least for a year or two). It's been a way for me to control my spending habit and actually get around to painting and playing games.

Here is my progression lists for my Eldar force. Some of which I already have, other's I'll need to purchase and will be highlighted in red. All lists will be Alaitoc craftworld. All lists will be based off the initial 750 point list, additions to the higher point lists will be highlighted in cyan; changes to already existing units will be highlighted in violet.

Before continuing on to the 2000 point list, please consider a few things. For some reason I've really been struggling with how to spend these last 500 points. What you'll see below is pretty much for aesthetic purposes and I find it hard to believe that it could be considered semi-competitive. There's just so many things that could be added to beef up my army to make it 2000 points and more competitive. Additional troops would probably do the trick, as I quite obviously don't put an emphasis on them in lower point costs. I do however have a lot of Dire Avengers and Guardians and I'd more than likely use them as filler units for these benchmark lists, for off number lists (e.g. 850 and 1650).

ELDAR - 2000 Battalion
HQ - Farseer - Guide, Mind War, Singing Spear
HQ - Warlock - Enhance/Drain, Witchblade

SUPER HEAVY AUXILIARY DETACHMENT
Wraithknight - Titanic Ghostglaive and Scattershield, 2x Starcannon

As you can see... a bit absurd, especially since I'd have to buy one. I'd really appreciate some alternatives to the Wraithknight. If you had to fill in 500 points of Eldar, what would you throw in a list?

Thanks!

A decent 500 point addition could be an autarch skyrunner with laser lance, 5 shining spears +exarch w/ star lance, then a 3rd fire prism w/ a trading matrix. Split the prisms and a warlock into a spearhead detachment, then the autarch, spears, and vipers into an outrider. You could even do the outrider as saim hann and give one of your warlocks quicken to get off some devastating first turn charges (and i guess you really wouldn't NEED saim hann to do that). This would leave 39 points to play around with.

Another strong option would be a max reaper squad, autarch w/ reaper launcher, and a third vyper. Again you could then split up the detachments. You would need to scrounge 4 points from somewhere if you went this route.

A few more things to look at would be maybe swooping hawks, warp spiders, or war walkers if you aren't looking for just the strongest units in the codex.

Ooooh... I like the Autarch Skyrunner and the 5 Shining Spears idea. Would definitely be a good synergy with the Howling Banshees and D-Scythe Wraithguard wanting to push up the battlefield in those Wave Serpents. I could use the extra points to upgrade the Wave Serpent weapons a bit and maybe add Spirit Stones to make them even more resilient. This would leave just enough points to add 1 more Dire Avenger to the squad.

Thanks for the input!

Homely, i wouldn't really upgrade the serpents weapons since they are gonna be rushing to get your heavy hitters in range. Vectored engines would be good since they stack with your craftworld trait and spirit stones are useful too. For weapons, at most, just upgrade the twin cats to a cannon. Definitely just my opinion though, ymmv. Good luck to you!
