Can the Dreadclaw weapon, Thermal Jets, hits models out of line of sight? Example. Infantry on the other side of a wall, but within range of the weapon.

When fired, this weapon automatically inflicts D6 hits on each unit, friendly or enemy, with at least one model within range. The weapon can only be used if more enemy units will be affected than friendly ones.

Unless the datasheet mentions another special rule you still need to choose an initial target and have line of sight as in 3. Shooting Phase 2. Choose Targets.

If Khorne needs blood, will drown him in his own blood!
If Slaanesh wants pleasure, then we´ll give him DEATH, the greatest pleasure known to man!
If Tzeentch asks for forbidden knowledge, then we will enlighten him with fear of The God Machine!
If Nurgle wants us to embrace rebirth, then to hell with that, the Guard embrace Death, we live to DIE!

No, it cant. If you want to shoot something you need LOS. You can only shoot units who are not visible to the bearer if the weapon has an ability which allows you to do so.

But the weapon never picks a target. It simply goes off. No unit is targeted, you only ever determine range with the weapon.

As a special rule supersedes the general rule book, I would say that it hits all units within range.

There is no weapon which simply goes off and never picks a target. It says when fired, so its used in the shooting phase, where it follows all the rules.

You have to choose a target with LoS but after you got a target that weapon checks every unit in range regardless of range. So with 1 enemy unit with LoS and 2 units of your guys behind a wall in 6" you will not be able to use the weapon because of the special rule.

Regarding auto hitting your target is the same with flamers. You still have to choose a target. If you don't need LoS the datasheet will tell you (see any artillery piece for an example).
