So a friend and I were doing some math for a list and were stuck. We totaled a Russ to be 180 points, and wanted to add pask, who is 177 points. Our question is, do you add him to the tank's value to total 357 points, or is he a character that remains 177 points, even though he rides on a tank?

The cost of Pask includes the basic tank. You pay his cost plus the cost of the weapons his tank comes with (battle cannon and heavy bolter if you do not take any upgrades). I'm not giving points as Dakka (and GW) do not appreciate specific points on the forum.

Do yourself a favour and get Battlescribe, it's great, if a bit tricky to pick up to begin with.

Pask is his own datasheet. Same for Tank Commanders.

So for pask's list price, you get the tank chassis but it's BS2+ and issued orders. Then, you pay the cost for your hull lascannon, turret battle cannon, and sponsons/storm bolter. That's pask's total points.

If he can\t figure out how to calculate it from codex what you propose he does with BS errors then? BS has plenty of those. Without knowing how to do legal list and idea of points he'll make illegal lists with just BS.

BS!=replacement of codex. And simply owning codex isn't enough. You need to be able to USE it for it to count.
