So, I'm by no means an expert painter, I've just used some quick and easy tricks to fake my way into it. Now I absolutely love Necron Compound, as it makes quick work out of any metal. Thinking about painting up my Start Collecting Slaves to Darkness box, I've never painted armored warriors before, as I was a 40K player for many years and got used to painting Power Armor.

My thinking is prime the models with Krylon Matte Black, then use Necron Compound on all the armor and weapons, and paint the details. My question is should I use the Necron Compound before or after I do the details? Also, any general tips are greatly appreciated.

Mmmm the drybrush?

Id do it before the details

If i was me and needed to do chaos warriors id do

prime black
touch up black i missed
bolt gun metal all the armor and chain
dry brush metal up
wash with brown and black
touch up non metal bits back with black or a good brown
do fur in fur colors
then cloth
then leather.
wash with browns and sepia
seal.

just plan it all out and you can easily chain gang them.
