Hey all.

I have a tournament in 1-2 months and need to start preping a list and tactics.

Based on how Necrons have changed since the Codex and how they work I have come up with 2 lists that I would love some help if anyone has any information to pass on.

General list Ideas;
So this list was built with the Tomb Blades in mind as they are probably one of the best units for Necrons. Gauss Tomb Blades will be accompanied by the Cloaktek each for 4+ RP. Once one of the Gauss TBs are dead that Cloaktek will back the Particle beamer unit. Gauss TBs are to clear chaff and be harassment. PB TBs are to get objectives and once it goes to turn 3 this unit should be unkillable and really annoying for my opponent to face.

Immortals and warriors were added in for more CPs so they are just tax and hold no position in the list besides anti deep strike and extra weapons.

With the 1st list. I am using the DDAs to get 2-12 S10 -5 AP D D6 weapons that should pretty much kill what they target. Triarch Stalker is there to give those units re-rolling ones cause all 3 will pretty much hit all the same target and once those are dead the TS can provide re-roll 1s for my Tbs and or whatever else I have on the field.

The 2nd list is using the T Arks to give me the power of 4 Destroyers but with a more reliable controller and to give me access to a whole range of different weapon profiles.auto wounding flamers, weaker Gauss Cannon but better damage output and a S8 Anti-tank weapon. The 2nd list also has more warriors as I didn't have anywhere to put those extra points.

What do you guys think? What list would you run and what would you change to make it better? I appreciate all the help you guys give me.

First off, I like the idea behind the list. That many Tomb Blades are just difficult to deal with in most cases. If you're going with some form of this list, here is what I'd suggest:

-There is a lot of potential wasted with the immortals, as there is no Overlord to give the MWBD for the additional +1 to hit. I would either suggest getting an Overlord in there, or switching at least one of the immortals units for Warriros, as having more guys on the board to hold objectives is usually more powerful.

-Personally, I always go for the Doomsday Arks, as they usually one shot any vehicle each with a reroll on the # of hits. If you can fit them in their own Nephrek detachment, they want to stand still anyway, and rerolling 1s on them is super valuable! Either way, it looks good

I like the list but i have some comments:
*The Rule of Three is now a thing so your list is illigal... Max 9 tombblades is allowed(3x3).
*I would put a stalker in the second list too for rerolls 1's to all the tombblades
*Dunno with to do with the spare points you get from removing the blades but some more DDA's, destroyers or bigger groups of immortals.
*Maybe a Veil of Darkness relic to have som teleport in the game for object grabing
*How is Tesseract Ark working in the 8 th ed? Never used it or seen it played...

As long as he only has 3 units of tomb blades he is fine, since they can have 9 models in a squad.
TBH, I'd suggest tesla if possible on some of your TBs, they can advance if wanted, and still shoot, or otherwise get that nasty -1 to AP at close range that really can make them shine.
AP-3 on Gauss Immortals is nasty against certain targets, but wasted on others.

DDAs are excellent mathematically, but tend to be swingy sometimes.

DDA's main cannon is unreliable like hell. Once upon a time it one shot a TCtan in a game against another Necron player, or one shot a Hellforge Contemptor Dreadnought. The other times it even failed to kill a single Pink Horror.

Its side arms the Gauss arrays, on the other hand, is much more reliable. At least it is impressive in my two games against Thousand Sons, the DDA takes 3 wounds from fully buffed Magnus per game per ark by its side arms.

What is the most reliable thing of the DDA is its survivability. So far they are always among the models survived the whole game every time I use them.
