So I'm trying to figure out how this works as I'm kinda tired and/or drunk.

So I have a Lugft Huron model I wanna use obviously but seeing as the regular Space Marine codex is kinda junk I figured I would see if I could use him elsewhere. I remember a thread on here talking about how theoretically you could run Tyberos in a Blood Angels list and give him the Red Thirst rule at the cost of treating Carcharodons like a Blood Angels successor (so no relics outside that dumb Sword, but oh well).

So I'm not terribly great at the whole Keyword interaction here as I kinda kept everything strict and vanilla, but basically I'm curious if it would be possible to run Lugft Huron in a Deathwatch list and he gains the Mission Tactics rule, at once again having the cost of losing access to Relics and such again. OR did that thread say Tyberos could only be ran ala Vanilla Codex?

Not possible. Unlike with vanilla marines, Blood Angels and Dark Angels, there is no successor rule, so if you want Deathwatch rules, you must have the Deathwatch keyword.
