This will be the second mostly Primaris list I have made. This will be using about 1000 points of Militarum Tempestus. The other half being Deathwatch. I would like to hear if people think this is better than my Primaris Raven Guard and Militarum Tempestus list. Also, I would love suggestions to optimize this, as I am pretty new to the mix-squads concept. This will be two battalions, one Deathwatch and the other Militarum Tempestus.

I only have the Militarum Tempestus models.

The Watchmaster will accompany will the long range team. The Captain will accompany the heavy foot sloggers in the telaportium. The Militarum Tempestus will drop and harass the enemy.

I can't say much about the MT since I have little experience with them (I do still have 3 Start collecting boxes laying about tho).

What I can say about the Deathwatch is that Hellblasters are particularly good. I'd exchange one of your heavy footsloggers for a unit with Hellblasters and/or with Inceptors (with plasma).

The footsloggers are pretty good, I've used a unit like that and it fires a scary amount of dakka, pretty impressive. I'd recommend exchanging 1 Inceptor for an aggressor though. It saves some points and against most of their targets they are good enough. The Inceptor is there only for his bonus if they accidentally end up in cc. Besides, IF you get in cc the aggressor deals more damage with his power fists.

Furthermore, never use the heavy/stalker variants for the primaris units. They're actively worse than the standard bolt rifles /incinerators and they cost more points.

I'm not a fan of the flamestorm gauntlets. I prefer the dakka variants of Aggressors. The range and cost of the flamestorm gauntlets and aggressors is also completely wasted on a backfield unit. The bonus to movement for heavy weapons is also pretty useless. The bonus to assault weapons is better. It can help you keep distance to the enemy to still fire the assault variants twice which is way more useful than being able to move with the heavy variants. The dakka aggressor will also be able to fire with the rest of the unit if you use them in an assault variant unit.

So yeah, that's my observation based on my limited experience with the new DW so far. Hope it makes sense.
