I own a Chaos Knight (index not forgeworld) and I also already own Anngrath the Unbound and a Lord of Skulls. Thing is, with the relative bleakness of the odds of getting support for the index entry and the fact I already have a (currently ) infinitely stronger option in my Lord, should I just sell the knight off?

I have 2 forgeworld Chaos Knights currently. I'm looking forward to buying 2 more to dedicate one knight to each of the gods.

You don't need updated index rules to play them. Either use the rules for one of the imperial knight houses, or what I plan on doing is playing them each as a freeblade. The rumour is that freeblade rules will be individual for each knight, so just use whatever rules suits your knight the most.

I say keep it. Eventually we'll get updated rules. You have other LoW options. So at least you've got that.

It is why im posing the question in the first place. Its also the same reason I havent just sold off my chaos marine troops, because "maybe in 9th theyll be good".

Just in general, never sell models because they are "weak" in an edition. Next edition they might be the core. You need to build a collection, buy what works this edition too and then you can select what works from a wider range next one.

It's possiable the renegade box might have rules for renegade knights.. just a thought

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

and a "micro codex for renegade knights" would be a good way to boost sales of renegade the second time around. just take the free blade rules and chaosify them and poof.

What's the catch on the renagade box - it's two knights for £120, when a single Knight is £95.... I'm tempted to get a box (from somewhere with 20% off) and convert them both to chaos knights....

They might not be great at the moment but I expect that to change. Given how pretty much all the large kits are terrible at the moment, at some point they'll get at least a balance tweak. My money would be on GW going overboard and making infantry terrible just to increase sales....
