Looking for C&C on the list. I had some fun playing around with them at a 1k round robin and have the urge to expand them again (had a 1750+ army the last time I played DE, naturally it has shrunk in point value since the 3.5 codex). Right now I have a good chunk of the models, would need to add the Venoms, Ravagers and a couple other odds and ends.

Basic concept is keeping the list down to 11 drops and just getting in my opponent's face fast with either a good quantity of blast weapons and/or high volume of attacks from the Wyches who can then lock most things up. I think the MSU opportunities to spam agonizers and blast pistols offsets losing the extra Wych weapons at 10 (basically I would take 2 agonizers and 2 shardnets/impalers with 2 blast pistols over 1 agonizer, 1 pistol and 3 specials).

The Ravagers are equipped for some versatility (1 Lance/2 Cannons) and move with the Muse Archon. I kept all of the transports in the Kabal detachment as the 6+ FNP is valuable to me as far as keeping transports alive. Even a 1W Raider is still getting a BS 5+ dark lance.

Right now there are:

x8 Dark Lances
x6 Disintegrator Cannons
x6 Blasters
x12 Blast Pistols

Certainly short ranged for the most part but very spread out across MSU and hard, even with the Dark Eldar's relatively fragility, to know out with one blow.

Have Shock Prows been worth it enough to consider dropping a model somewhere to add them?

Bags not buying all those vehicles.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
ive said it elsewhere, and im probably harping on it by now, but go have a look at covens, specifically wracks.

with the right coven, and keepign your wracks in a group around your Haemo (also with the right trait), those wracks are absurdly tough, good in CC, and can be respawned. for 9 points per model.

that said, yeah this list seems fine. dunno if id bother with so many blast pistols, or even any at all, and use the points saved elsewhere, maybe on a group of scourges with shredders, or something.

If you are sticking with agonizers on all the wyches, I might think of trying strife instead of cursed blade.

Thank you for your thoughts, definitely a few things to kill.

I originally went Cursed Blade thinking I would have bigger squads but going MSU is making the others more attractive.

The blast pistols are there to give the relevant units something to do in their transport if they cannot get out. My general doctrine is also I refuse to lose to big stuff so lots of D6 weapons even if short ranged is good.

No harm in preaching the gospel of the Coven wherever an audience may be found. For whatever reason I cannot get into that part of the model range.

i would cut all the blast pistols and agonizers. You are spending 150 points on upgrades there is a good chance you will never use.

I get the appeal of cursed blade, but i feel that red grief gets wyches into position faster which allows them to actually do their job. Remember that wyches are there to stop things from shooting and to tie up units in combat, not necessarily to kill anything. The upgrades you have given your wych squads other than shardnets do not actually make them any better at doing what they are meant to do.

A full unit of 10 wyches can evaporate a lot of infantry units. Strife ones can also attack twice with their stratagem. Red grief is about tarpitting but wyches are solid also as an offensive unit. Better than poison to handle infantries.

I agree about blast pistols, 150 points of them are too many, I'd suggest keeping just 2-3 pistols. Keep the agonisers though, if you play aggressively they're a very good weapon and a must take for only 4 points. With the spared points you may field hellions, which are certainly decent with the cursed blade obsession and they can cause a lot of damage with the stratagem that inflicts mortal wounds if they fly over an enemy unit. Or a squad of 6 bikes with 1-2 blasters.
