Monolith Games is going to do a second kickstarter for Mythic battles: Pantheon. This will be a re-print of the first kickstarter and will be version 1.5. So for those, who took part on the last KS, there will be some kind of upgrade pack for the 1.5 - propably a few fixed cards where changes were made. There will be some new units, but not a lot. The main purpose for the KS is to re-print the game.

EDIT: Linky here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/806316071/mythic-battles-pantheon-15?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=mythic%20battles

Note, this is a 9 day kickstarter. So make up your mind fast, if you want in or not.

Also appearing in this KS is a monster from the next game: Mythic battles: Ragnarök
That game will come to kickstarter some time during the 2019. This figure is fully playable in Mythic battles: Pantheon game as the two games will be fully compatible.

So, here's Ymir - a Jötun from the far north, coming to visit the ancient Greece for awhile.

And the Ymirs figure:

Totally buying the whole lot for this one. Was always annoyed I missed it the first time round.

I bought everything last time, so I'm taking the upgrade pack + Ymir + whatever else is new this time around.

I really like the game and the plastic figures are best (boardgame) plastic figures I own.

Are the kickstarter exclusives also available again? If so, I am totally going in again. I backed the original one, but had to quit due to lack of funds. I am still sad about it. Seeing as how much I love Greek mythology, I'd be really happy to get my hands on it after all.

I Skipped the first KS, which I regretted and eventually purchased the base pledge on ebay (for nearly double the price :/) wanted all the expansions too, but they were going for crazy money. Will be nice to pick up the rest for a fair price now.

I'm not sure about the KSEs.

I think all the old stretch goals will be there, if I understood it right.

But they won't print all the old add ons as some of those didn't sell well (again IIRC).

We will see in 5th of June what is available, so it's not a long wait.

Expansions and add-ons available during the next KS campaign

For those of you who want to complete Mythic Battle: Pantheon, some of the expansion and add-ons will be available during this reprint. Here's what will not be available for this campaign:
• Corinthia,
•Ketos,
•Art book,
RPG,
•All stat-clips pack,
•Classic dice

We are still working on the following items and can’t yet confirm if they will be offered during the campaign:
• Oedipus VS Sphinx,
•Paolo Parente guest box,
•Terrain Set

There won’t be new Stretch Goals for this campaign.

The core box will come with all the Stretch Goals from 1st KS campaign

Titans and Poseidon for me at the very least. Wouldn't mind grabbing all the expansions if funds permit. Very happy with what I received with the core game and stretch goals.

This game has been interesting as my kids have realized what's what in the box, based on having read the D'Aulaires books so often when they were young... and Saint Seiya of all things.

My daughter totally got into Saint Seiya after seeing it on Netflix, realizing she knew all those names from somewhere, and busted out the old books (as well as all my original Seiya manga), and starting to ask lots of questions about the myths.

...now I want a Saints expansion.

Looks like the exclusives for the individual expansions are also included (ie, the birds in Hera's, mechanical warriors in Hephaestus's). I want my killer flamingos!

I was really pleased w the communication and product on both Conan and Mythic Battles. Hoping that continues w Mythic no longer being in the picture.

Base game (Core box 1.5) is 119 dollars. Still a good deal because you get all of the stretch goals of the previous kickstarter included.

I'm in for the 1.5 upgrade kit, Ymir and Dionysus. I could take or leave the frosty dice, but they are already included in the pledge level, so I guess I'll take them too. At least Ymir gets his own dice.

And Ymir gets a choise of 2 heads too. Looks like one is his official Norse head and the other is a vacation head for the greek summer vacation? Anyway, if you get Ymir later in the Ragnarök KS, you'll only get 1 head then.

Miniatures are quite nice.

Can't speak for gameplay. Haven't been able to talk anyone into it yet.

With the stretch goals, you get a heck of a lot of play value there. Especially if you plan on using the figures in other games.

I swear there's a Greek skirmish / campaign game out there I saw before these would be perfect for if you want less of a board game style experience. I know Osprey has a Roman one, but the one I'm thinking is Greek...

The miniatures are best plastic (boardgame) miniatures I own. Bodies are PVC and weapons are harder plastic, so they stay straight.

You cannot compare these to HIPS(?) plastic (like GW or KDM), but for PVC plastic, they are very nice indeed.

Since they want to do most of the troops as single piece cast, some of the poses are a bit ackward, but for the most part I like the detail and poses a lot.

There is a bit of scale difference between the various expansions when compared to the main game (Hera box seems to be the most affected as Hera is noticeably smaller than the other gods), but as most of the stuff is monsters, it doesn't really matter. Maybe Hera is just small woman? Some of the stretch goal gods are noticeably bigger that the base gods. But not so much it sticks to eye too much.

The 5 Titans are BIG (as they are meant to be bigger than the gods).

All in all I'm far happier with these figures than any of my CMON plastic figures (that is, I think these are better produced than CMON stuff). And I like most of my CMON stuff too (altough my CMON vikings have sad, droopy spears...)

Better than CMON for quality (best PVC I own) and the gameplay is probably in my top 3 systems I’ve ever tried (and that’s a lot).

Very much worth it.

Tribes of Legend? Voice of Olympus Jake Thorton (is he still with Mythic?) designed the game, so you could ask on his Quirkworthy blog how well the Mythic Battles mini's work with it (including a solo 12-scenario campaign).

Also, some Greek RPG games:

I respect your opinion, so thank you for sharing!

I was thinking I might just wait for the Norse version launching in...2019, but now, maybe I'll get this one too?

I so much wish to go all in. But I just can't afford it. I blew everything on Joan of Arc. I also need to start saving up for Ragnarok already. At least I will get the core box this time. Maybe they will do a third kickstarter?

Since Mythic Battles are KSer only they've stated that if there's demand for a third printing they'd do another kickstarter.

Shipping this time around are more, though shipping prices have gone up every year so that's understandable I guess, and the add on prices are about 10% more too. Not a deal breaker but it is something to be aware of.

As for the figures I can't decide if I like or hate Ymir. I don't dislike the concept but the sculpt is a bit off. I worry that the concepts will be less traditional on creatures and more sci-fi like Ymir so it's tempered my expectation for Ragnarok.

Darn tooting right.

The troop minis are adequate, but gods, monsters and heroes are some of the best plastics that I've ever encountered.

Gameplay is phenomenal.

I've only played a handful of games with the base set and so far I've been seriously impressed. Drafting, card activations and hand management, different abilities and combos... I love it. I bought into it hoping to get a game that I'd be playing for decades and I think that it might manage it.

A friend went in fairly heavy. Models are sweet, gameplay is fun, really like the drafting. Want some of the models myself, but have to pass. Can't justify a bunch more PVC on the unpainted pile.

I think what might be affecting the Ymir sculpt (at least partially) is that he is an ice giant. The picture shows him covered in ice, but since they want to sculpt the (mummified?) skin details, they have to leave the ice skin off from the sculpt.

Maybe there is a way to add the ice skin back to the sculpt after you have painted it? Perhaps add some water effect stuff over some of the painted body to represent the ice?

Well, ice elementals like Ymir are hard to sculpt. Either you ignore the icy surface to sculpt some detail in or sculpt the ice skin, but unpainted he looks just like a rock elemental...?

After having looked at Ymir sculpt for a few days, I think I dig it. Sure, he could have been given the more traditional big hobo look, but there are plenty of those kind of ice giants already on the market.

For the record, I liked the tentacley Poseidon in MBP and do not feel the need for the traditional hobo with trident model that some people were demanding for him during the last KS. So I guess I'm fine with Monolith taking some liberties with the settings.
There was a viking warrior included in the MBP box as sort of advertisment for Ragnarök and it looked pretty traditional viking warrior, so the Ragnarök setting propably will have same kind of mixture of traditional look (most of the greek stuff looks pretty accurate to me) and non-traditional look (some are more fantastic, like Poseidon).

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Ymir is big figure. Almost as big as Typhon (which is the biggest figure in MBP)
But then again, Ymir is counted as Nordic equivalent of a titan, so Ymir might be one of the most powerful units in Ragnarök. As the Titans are more powerful than gods in MBP.

Went in for the update and two expansions. When I got the first one I got a few add ons but no expansions so this time I will get a few expansions. Maybe next time get the rest, I would like to go all in with what I have missing but I really needed to save some money as there is a lot of stuff I would like to get.

BGG has various reviews, including the original retail edition (that didn't have miniatures). Well-received, though won't change your mind about skirmish games if you don't like them.

Not the best person to ask about game play, I have read thru the rules, watched a few videos and went thru the boxes but due to building a house I have not had the time or the area in my rental to get everything out to play. As far as the product goes, I can honestly say they are some of the best miniatures quality wise I have seen.

They are on par with Vangaurd of War (another game with amazing miniatures) and better quality then Warmachine and hordes. Watch a few of the play thru videos on you tube. I will say if you love some awesome models they are top notch. I wish I could give you a better perspective on game play... sorry.
