Hi all,

I recently bought a Sil-Air 15a compressor to start airbrushing.

When setting it up, the manual says to remove the cap on the air intake and replace it with a filter, however the filter does not stay firmly in place.

When I poke it, the filter wobbles, and it looks like its diameter is slightly too large for the intake. I don't see any seal either.

Do you think that my compressor is faulty, or is it normal that the filter is not super tight?

Thanks!

Edit: Here's a video to show how easily the filter can get removed. I really don't know if it's normal...

I've no idea about your model of compressor or that style, but what I would suggest is contacting the store and seeing if it's normal. Alternatively when in doubt youtube is your friend. This video covers the 15D (which seems quite similar in design) and briefly looks at that filter around the 3:44 mark.
