Hello all,

New to Warhammer 40k, and still doing my reading and homework.
collecting models and about 1/2 way through me potential build. Looking for some advise and pointers.
Here is the Army I'm looking to bring to the table......1910 POINTS WITH 90 POINTS FOR HORROR SPLITS (2000)

2 battalion detachments (1 Slaanesh 1 Tzeench)

Your second battalion is ok, I'd consolidate the 3 units of pink horrors into 1 big 30 man unit and add 2 units of brims. Get rid of the Slaanesh and add in Khorne or Nurgle.

Ive thought about going all Tzeentch. but I kinda liked the Slaanash part of the army. Melee backbone and all.
they are fast, +1 str to Daemonettes with Herold, -1 to enemy hit rolls within 6" of Masque, Keeper heals a wound every slain enemy.
Beast also has a heal wound.

My thoughts were to charge this battalion from unit to unit, Keeping Tzeentch at range to pluck off what ever they can. keeping the Prince in mid-field to snatch up stray units.

Not a fan of Khorne, Nurgle seems somewhat okay.

issue with masque is that -1 only applies in melee combat, and daemonettes are little better then guardsmen against shooting attacks. If your set on slaanesh switch to an outrider detachment, drop masque, get herald on steed, and bring seekers and hellflayers, while maybe dropping the beast. The extra movement makes a world of difference in either reaching los blocking cover, objectives, or melee.

Also i'd personally drop the changeling. Pinks are already super durable with their locus and 4+/3+ invuln saves and a 6+ fnp is really overkill and not worth it for the cost of the changeling. Maybe bring an exalted flamer or 2 for anti tank shooting.

slaanesh sucks,,, sorry to say, never make a warlord a model which can be easily targeted, you play like a MSU and with demons that wont pay back, you lost lot of bonus play so small units.

Okay, so if i were to completely drop Slaanesh how should i fill out a second 1/2? I would like to keep my Spined Chaos Beast, I just got him and would be a shame to not have a reason to paint and table him.

My “Nurgle” battalion is 3x3 Nurglings, a Pied Piper, and a Slerald on Steed. None of those things need the locus bonus. Nurglings deny infiltrate/DS, and Slerald targets scouts.
It’s a good compliment to all the Horror shooting.

Fatey AND a LoC is too much. Take one or the other. Fatey is less survivable, since you can surge the LoC with Robes to a 2++. But he knows more powers (although with the sucky Tzeentch tree, 2 casts is usually enough).
