Here's the situation. I have largish 30k blood angels army. I also have bunch of 40k blood angels. As I have several Imperium armies including IG figured I might just as well USE those 40k blood angels so time to dust them off.
Obviously money wise combining them with my 30k blood angels is tempting. While foot power armour isn't that useful(I have like over 100 various foot power armour guys on 40k side) terminators, dreadnoughts, predator, rhino's and land raider plus the 20 assault marines with jump pack would be not so bad addition. Okay old armour marks but hey 1st founding can be considered to have them especially on the pitiful skirmish battles that 40k are. Squad or two old power armour marines is no big deal.
2 annoying issues though.
a) 30k blood angels have notably different colour scheme to 40k ones. As that's sacred for me answer is paint the 40k blood angels in 30k colour scheme...
b) basing. My 40k and 30k armies are based differently. 40k BA are still unworked so basing them 30k style is obviously the way to go. However that means basing scheme is notably different between blood angels and imperial guard...Though actually so will my knights as well. Well differently still is mostly grey basing. Colours aren't that different, just how they are build.
Soooo...Not combining gives me more unified look in basing and doesn't give weird 30k colour scheme. Combining gives me hefty amount of "free" units for 40k side. Yey.
So....Combine or not?
