Hi all,

So I'm looking to convert the 2 Liberator Primes from the start Collecting AOS box to be carrying Grand Hammers. I'm not wanting to swap out for another model as they won't fit right and although I'm yet to build my normal Liberators with much more options, I am still 2 hammers short.

As such, my plan is to snip off the existing hammers, drill through the hand and insert a rod which will be the longer handle for the 2 handed hammer. On the bottom I add the original bottom of the hammer and the top I add the original top.

Ideally, I'd like to use a hammer head which is a bit more ornate, but unfortunately I can't see anyone selling these in the UK (very little AOS alternative bits in fact). The other issue is the metal rod. Other than a reallly long paper clip, any suggestions? I plan to score the rod before inserting it to add a bit of texture (rod inserted to drill and spun against a file while wearing safety glasses )

I use brass rod for weapon handles. Sometimes I cover this with plastic rod. Why i here you ask. Well, usually when you drill through a hand and stick a rod through, the result can look really odd. So drill through the hand will a small diameter rod, glue the brass rod in place then cover each exposed end with the plastic rod. Looks so much better.

Thanks bubber. Hammer heads I have, just hoping there may be some larger and more ornate ones from another supplier.

Where did you get the plastic tubes?

most half-decent model shops should carry them. You want to buy the brass rod & the tube together to ensure you get the right size. Take a mini along too for comparison.
You can try the web (search for plastruct - eg here: http://www.gaugemaster.com/search_results.asp) but i prefer to review the bits in person to ensure I get the right size.
