I picked up 3 sprues of winter soviet infantry in a recent sale from warlord, and I'm shopping around for weapon / arm and head replacements.

I know FW DKoK bits and Victoria Lamb's parts scale perfectly with bolt action's infantry, but price of both those two (mostly shipping on the latter) is an issue.

Spoiler:

So has anyone tried or has the parts to mock up a comparison with Anvil Industries bits?

Or can anyone point me to any alternative lasguns that are suitably scaled preferably with rifle grips to fit with the stock soviet arms.

Cheers all, hopefully this might be useful to someone who isn't me as well!

Hi OMN

Yeah i built some Bolt Action soviets with Victoria Miniatures laser rifle arms a while ago, figured i'd use them to represent conscripts/whiteshields as they're on the non heroic scale of things!

But i have some Anvil phase carbine arms that i've cobbled together to a spare BA body for you

They don't look half bad TBH! Of course the hands are rather over sized... Though the Anvil arms might look better on your winter dress soviets i'd say as i assume there's more bulk to those models.

Mad Robot's federal service rifle is a nice alternative lasgun for BA scale as its really quite a slim weapon

Apologies for the crappy pics but i hope that helps!

Thank you!
That's just what I wanted to see, the hands kind of bother me a bit, I figured mad robot's bits would be way too big.

Actually the Soviet winter are not much bulkier, they use the same size arms as the basic soviet infantry which I was hoping to use to hold guns.

I put in an order with anvil for a few bits & bobs to try out, if they don't work out I can always use them for other things so no worries there.

Looks like I might be sending an order to Oz.
