This week it's:

The ultramarine, fists, dark angels, wolf boys and iron hands icons.
Fair enough, I doubt they sell more than once in a blue moon, and with custom doors for rhinos there isn't really a need to keep these around.

The entire upgrade set for red scorpions, as well as badab era carab cullin. Since this is the flagship FW chapter, and they gave them new units recently, I just don't get this. In addition, we're losing the astral claws upgrade kits and their cool dude with the whips. I guess I can kiss goodbye my hopes for a badab imperial armour in 8th.

We're also losing the blood angels, black templars and salamander terminator shoulder pads? Why? Because feth you, that's why. Blood angels have a GW terminator set, so that makes sense. The other two are just a way of removing yet another flavour option.

I think we are going to start seeing things such as the landraider Proteus next and some of the older Tau experimental suits.

I don't know about the land raider, but the environmental hazard suits are a shoe in for being discontinued.

Does anyone have a good evidence-based account of why Forgeworld are doing this massive culling?

B&C says they got denied increased Warehouse space, so now they have to get rid of extras/nice to have things so they can make room for the new.

They went from Marines/Guard/Chaos/some Xenos/some Fantasy to all that, Specialist Games, Lord of the Rings and Horus Heresy... and got denied space, lol.

I think they’re starting to feel the serious sting of the Chinaman. I blame 30k players personally.

The best thing FW could do would be to switch to complex, plastic kits with massive amounts of bits/spares

I don't know how much other factors are at play, but assuming sales are a big factor:

The environmental hazard special weapon upgrade must do pretty well, it's one of the best ways to get massed plasma for guardsmen.

They still sell the DKoK Grenadiers with special weapons, so I think the normal squad will pop back soon.

What are you talking about?

There are a LOT of death korp squads up for sell, in different poses, different gear, command squads, cav squads, artillery squads, etc.
