Hey,
I'm a returning player from 5E. Have not been able to play 8E but have been keeping up over the last year, to a point. I've wanted to play an army styled like this for a long whilr, so there is a good chance I will be building it regardless, but thought I would see what others thought.
Specifically I am looking for feedback on where I am waisting points (bonus if you can tell the difference between waste and unorthodox, though it's a fine line at times) or where I will run into issues in the current meta (e.g. can I not put out enough firepower / secure objectives).
Nitro Circus 2000 (1967 pts, 6 CP)
Raven Guard Spearhead Detachment (566 pts, +1 CP)
• 1x Captain on Bike w/ Burning Blade, Warlord Trait: Storm of Fire
• 3x Bike Squad (5) w/ x2 Plasma Gun, x1 Combi-Plasma
Tallarn Brigade Detachment (844 pts, +5 CP)
• 2x Company Commander w/ Boltgun and Power Fist
• 2x Command Squad w/ x3 Meltagun, Vox Caster
• 4x Infantry Squad w/ Plasma Gun, Vox Caster
• 6x Taurox w/ Twin Autocannon
House Griffith Super Heavy Detachment (561 pts, +0 CP)
• 1x Armiger Helverin Lance (3) w/ x2 Armiger Autocannons and Meltagun
Notes and other random thoughts:
• The SM Captain is the Warlord
• One of the Armigers is a Character
• Everything moves 14” and the threat range is pretty decent (or was using 5E logic) with ~38” being the low end
• 12 ACs, 6 Armiger ACs, 13 Plasma Guns, and 11 Meltaguns with effective ranges from ~26” - ~74”
• Not sure if I am tight/low on CP, and some threats like Flyers will require at least one.
• Everything is very mobile, with the Tauroxen and Armigers not being penalized for running around with their ACs
• For Nitro Circus 1750, just drop 1 Armiger and a Biker from each Bike Squad and I think I squeak under.
• Points are off and I need to use up the remaining still... Debating running Attack Bikes, but could only fit in Heavy Bolters I think. Hard to figure which way to go.
