Hi guys, could you please comment on these commissars? Please only constructive criticisms. Let me know what you see is wrong, but don't like, tell me that they are utter garbage or whatever. I know I'm new.

The stones are not done, but the rest of the models are painted.
This is what I was trying to duplicate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T3nkhhGEo0

I can take more pictures at different angles if necessary.

The reds and the white sashes all come off quite flat, both need a wash I think. Probably purple on the red as it darkens red well and maybe a light sepia on the sash, or a very very very light blue?

Another important thing is the aquilas on the hats. Those should really stand out and as they are you're using a very reddish gold on red so it really doesn't. If you have a lighter and more yellow gold or maybe even a silver I think those would work better there.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I guess I was thinking that Inshouldn’t highlight the aquila on the hat since it is below the hat, so the light wouldn’t hit it. Maybe that was the wrong decision. I may cone back to it.

I already hit them with washes. I think it’s the lighting messing things up.

99% of the time when working on models you're assuming they're lit from all sides, so highlight everything. If you want to make a model looked lit from a single source that's a much more advanced and niche technique.

Top Tip #1 : You'll be be far more likely to get comments on your pictures if you post them on Dakka. We're a lazy bunch around.

Oli: Can I be an orc?
Everyone: No.

I’ll do that next time. It looks like this thread is already dead.
