So for fun, I was trying to come up with an all-shooty (or at least predominantly shooty) Nid list. I'm not looking to compete in any big tournies with this, but wouldn't mind being able to actually eke out some wins, so input on what I could do to tweak this a bit would be appreciated:

Was hoping that the Venomthropes would be enough to help the Heavy's survive at least a round of shooting and was hoping that there would be a high-enough volume of fire to take out dangerous things from mid-range.

Thoughts?

I myself am very new to 8th edition and tyranids. I really like the look of your list I would consider taking a few genesteallers or hormagaunts just to deal with the threat of DS CC units. I know you have some huge gant squads which will work as well but some times intimidation can throw off your opponents and make them rethink a DS assault on your big creature gunline.

I would break up the bigger squads of termagants so you can get 2 battalions for the big CPs to spend boosting your exocrines damage +1 and double shooting your hive guard. I have been loving using my exocrine I should try 2 like you.

needs more hive guard!at least 3-6 more! also i would give venom canons to carnifexes instead Stranglethorn .. finally may i suggest warriors with deathspiters and venom canons in 3x3??no need for 2 exocrines
