Just picked up the new Soul Wars box. Pretty sure that I'm going to go with a linen burial shroud colour scheme for the Nighthaunts, but I'm not too much fan of the standard gold scheme for the Stormcasts. What are some examples of a non-gold colour scheme that you have used for painting the Stormcast Eternals?

I have seen people paint them as stone, as though statues come to life. There is normally one that pops up on the front page every now and again.

One of the guys on the Showcase had painted some green with gold trim, which looked pretty cool. Blue and silver always looks nice too.

I just searched the stone Stormcasts. They look insanely good.

Personally I've always like the Celestial Vindicators scheme...

Really anything NOT gold looks great on stormcast

The older style stormcast with mostly metal armor could look really nice with a clear metallic paintscheme, aka metals with tamiya clears over them. The newer stormcast with robes and all the extra doodads would be kind of a pain to do that in though.

I'll be painting mine to match my dark elves, so metallic red armour (Spiritstone Red over silver) and purple cloth (Vallejo Blue Violet). Still some gold for trim and suchlike, though.

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

I have been painting my stormcast as Knights of Aurora as I like the silver/gold/dark green (incubi darkness) combo and I have yet to see it used in my area. If you follow the GW receipe, shading the armor with Corelia Greenshade is what helps tie everything together and really helps the silver standout on the table top IMHO.

I do mine in "Ultramarine" Deathwatch colors. Metallic black, silver left arm, blue with gold trim right pad. Leather and such in Blue, Red plumes. I'm pretty happy with how it looks, but I've always loved the "Ultramarine" Deathwatch look and colors.

I wanted mine to look like giant knights, so I went with gunmetal armor and gold embelishments.

I think this is the project log of the guy you mean:

They really are very cool,it's a great concept well realised. I don't really like the Stormcast aesthetic, but this is an excellent take on them:

Here are some examples of stormhost colour schemes

I collect astral templars (middle of the bottom row), I wholeheartedly suggest heading down to your lgs and looking in an open copy of the new battletome as it has loads of iconography and heraldry for the stormcasts as well as some really good guides on how to paint them.
