Here’s one of my first attempts at BA I am currently about to buy into blood angels as my next army and I was wondering if this is a good list or what should I change? I really like the captains and will be buying 3 for other soup lists. The ancient is give or take I might remove him to add more basic marines to other squads not sure yet but the whole when a unit does it gets to fire is kinda dope especially when you couple it with the hell blasters/dev or even DS with the assault squads and captains. The heavy supports I wasn’t sure what to go with so I set them up as seen and can drop them for others. Tips would be greatly appreciated!

I like your list though there are some things that I’ll point out:

1. Other than the 3 minimal Scout squads and the 3 Shield-Captains, you don’t have a lot of ObSec. It depends on what kinds of games you’re looking to play wether this is important.

2. I would take the 3rd BA Captain and make an Outrider detachment with the 3 Assault Squads for the extra CP.

3. I think you have plenty of one-man wrecking machines- I’d change out the ancient for another light squad of Scouts or maybe even another assault squad. This will help if you find yourself against a strong horde list.

The outrider detachment is a great idea and I will be doing that immediately.
A 4th assault squad is what I was thinking about over the ancient.

Im glad the list looks good otherwise, I don’t know much about space marines so I’m looking foward to building and playing them.

Is the 3+ invuln sv really worth 15 points over the 4+ invuln sv for each captain ? They have no shooting, which means you are wasting their 2+ BS. For 15 pts. they can get a combiplasma. I wouldnt go with sniper rifles on scouts, not worth the points. A company ancient with standard of sacrifice would be good for your devastators. Adding cherubs to your devs would allow you to use hellfire shells twice for 2D3 MW, confirmed by SM FAQ. Same with flakk missile, if you had ML on your devs. Remove the ML from your scouts and put them on your devs.

One quick thing I'd point out about the list: Not sure if it's different with BA but I'm almost certain even they can't take Plasma Guns on their Assault Squads. They can take Plasma Pistols, but not the guns.

BA assault squads can use plasma guns, SM can too. Its either plasma, inferno pistol or hand flamer and chainsword, or plasmagun or flamer or meltagun. SM cant use inferno pistols though, thats BA only.

Oh that last part is a great idea I didn’t think of that For modeling and actually using! As for the captains I know I’m losing the shooting but I want this army to be hard to kill and close combat. Plus with the invul save I feel safe to take the overwatch for the assault units behind them. I have a few other army’s that are shooters so I wanted to go a little bit different and change up my play style.
