With Dark Eldar and Knights being super popular. Why would I take any power over Death Hex? I keep having people tell me to take Prescience, but it doesn't make sense to me. I play WE and supplement with a small detachment of Renegades for a sorcerer. So I usually take Warptime and Death Hex.

Death Hex requires your Psyker to get close to the enemy. Prescience just requires them to get close to a unit with good guns.

Death Hex is good sure, but so is Prescience. Giving a Havoc squad or something +1 to hit can make much more of a difference than ignoring Invulns on one model a lot of the time.

Well, for one you choose spells only after seeing your opponent's list, so you can use that information to make a proper choice.

Also, chaos have amazing psykers-why you only have one is beyond me.

against De prescience is a must, they get -1 to be hit and you get +1, that makes a great difference, -1 to hit is common in wh40k nowadays (flyers, alpha legion, alaitoc, plaguebearers, psychic powers...)

Warptime and Death Hex are great, when you can get them to go off. 8+ psychic test on Death Hex means it doesn't go off half the time.

Sure, it's great when something loses it's invulnerable save, but ask yourself: are you going to do more wounds due to a loss of invul or due to more wounds caused by more accurate weapons? Also, how many things actually have invul saves that Death Hex will affect?

My favorite Death Hex moment was against Death Guard where I got it to go off on Mortarion, my opponent just said "Oh, No," knowing what was about to happen. That's not going to happen in many games.

Thanks guys. I think my main concern is large Grotesque squads. Those are super hard for me to chew through. If I deny them an invuln however, they'll die rather quickly.

Death hex is only worth it against a 4++ save. But if youre giving prescience to a unit with loads of shots, then it more or less evens out in effectivness, since a 4++ means far less to 40 shots as opposed to 10.

death hex in competitive is a game changer, nothing more to say, custodes, demons,dark eldar, just to make some examples of codex in top lists, try kill custodes with and without death hex, or get that death hex over 30 plaguebearers or against that Tz demon Dp's with a 2++ save.
I play it regularly i losted count how many models i removed thanks to death hex.
