Heya, Folks,

I'm not a gamer, but have recently become interested in the gaming world due to being a lifelong modeler... Model kits like the Revell HALO Pelican and the Prodos Games' Aliens APC have really caught my attention.

Recently purchased the Prodos Games AVP USCM Multipart Marines and APC figures. Did the typical move to clean up the resin with Simple Green so that I could prime and paint --- after pulling them out of the bath and rinsing them off, all of a sudden, the resin figures and APC kit are now extremely tacky to the touch! So sticky, that you can place two parts next to each other and they will stick together like they were glued!!!!

Unfortunately, the good folks at Miniatures Market were not able to provide a solution and while I PM-ed Prodos directly via FB yesterday, alas, I have not heard back.

Has anyone else had this problem with their resin? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've been building resin kits and figures for a couple of decades and have never had this problem using Simple Green as a clean-up solution.

And would anyone recommend a product or solution that I can use to rid my Marines and APC of their newfound and unfortunate tackiness...

Man, I love the figures and APC and would be bummed not be able to assemble and paint them...

Many thanks in advance!

With Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

I think you left it in the solution for too long and have ruined the resin, possibly should have used denatured alcohol instead but even that can melt it if left to long

Are you sure they weren't already sticky when you put them in the simple green? Prodos have a known problem at the moment which is resulting in some customers receiving sticky resin. I understand its due to the resin not having cured properly and some folk have had success leaving sticky parts out to air so they can finish curing.

If not i go with the above response too and in future just use soap and water for prodos models.

If it's anything like Reaper Bones a spray of dullcote lacquer fixes it no problem.

Thanks, All!

I truly appreciate all of the feedback and advice!!!

Hoping that the Dullcote does the trick and does not melt my Marines & APC!

Dealing with a broken A/C and heavy heat out here, so grownup stuff first (sigh) and then when we can breath again, back to my "recovery operation" for those Colonial Jarheads and their cool ride.

Will post a follow up after the results are in --- fingers crossed!

Thanks again, Folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
