I'll post this here, as I don't think this is credible or interesting enough to warrant going in news and rumors, but that said it does contain some rumor-esque info.

Firstly, with Killteam coming soon, and then Orks and Space Wolves immediately after, I'm wondering when we'll see the next announcement for the fourth primarch to rejoin the 40k universe.

Interestingly, I read a 'rumor' that I cannot confirm as anything more than hear-say, but apparently a GW executive of some stripe was noted to have stated that the next primarch to be released in plastic for 40k does not have a FW/Horus Heresy resin kit in production at this time. That narrows down the list of possibilities *substantially*.

That list includes:

Lion El'Jonson
Jaghatai Khan (Unlikely, but possible. I'd love to see a Khan primarch model on a freaking giant jetbike. Would be flipping epic to see)
Sanguinius

I know, I know, Sanguinius is dead. I think he'll be returning at some point, but that's just my speculation and I'll go into the whys and reasons for that in a different discussion or in a reply here if anyone cares to discuss that.

Of course, Leman Russ is also a distinct possibility as well with the looming release of the Space Wolves codex. That being said, I would have expected some teases a-la the Mortarion release by this point.

Lastly, the next Chaos primarch is likely going to be either Fulgrim, or Angron, and of the two I think the case for Fulgrim (and a full Emperor's Children line re-vamp a-la the Death Guard release) is a bit stronger. The World Eaters berserker kit is also in need of a re-do but at least the Berserkers are all plastic, compared to the Emperor's children being a hybrid kit (finecast + plastic) even still. Also, the whole Emperor's Children and Slannesh line needs a re-branding similar to the overarching theme that was done for Death Guard and Nurgle. More-so for the Emperor's Children models versus the more modern Slanneshi daemons plastic minis and kits though.

So, final prediction:

Next loyalist primarch: Lion El'Jonson

Fever-dream dark horse possibility: Sanguinius.

Follow up Chaos Daemon Primarch: Fulgrim (With accompanying Emperor's Children revamped line release).

Just my .02 cents. Looking forward to seeing what people think. Take it easy.

What if they bring Sanguinus back, but as a Chaos clone? Fabius Bile has cloned primarchs before, and he got some of Sanguinus' blood from the cauldron, right? So what if he comes back as some great big winged, vampiric chaos monster?

That would be friggin' sweet!

Really, though, Lion or Russ.

Edit: Not making a berzerker kit alongside Angron would be a huge missed opportunity. If they throw in a Terminator kit and a (preferably shooty) daemon engine then you have almost a whole new army.

Guys I have a question about primarchs. All 3 of them seem to be good models game wise, good melee, ok shoting and some have psychic powers, they are great force multipliers too. So I though that a primarch would be some way of making GK better. The thing is, in the GK codex it is never mentioned who is their primarch, if he is dead like gulliman was or lost like Layman Russ.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

They already have theirs in game: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-IE/magnus-the-red

It has been said that they are the loyalist leftovers from the Thousand Sons. It explains the preponderance of psykers, the geneseed restrictions, and the short leash that they are kept on by the ][nquisition.

That's just how the lore goes sometimes.

Malcador the Sigillite picked up a bunch of dudes during the heresey and brought them before the Emperor. They renounced their former loyalties and were sworn to the Emperor directly. The group of humans became the ][nquisition, and the astartes became the Grey Knights. Their origins are technically unknown, but there are implications that it was loyalist Thousand Sons.

The ghostly teasing of slaanesh in AOS makes a strong case for emporers children in 40k, like how they did maggotkin of nurgle after DG.

Russ or ghazgkhull prime makes a lot of sense, although there haven't been any obvious teases for either of them.

When they get around to releasing the space wolves codex, I think Russ will arrive (along with some primaris stuff for them)

But fulgrim is definitely coming. The emporers children and slaanesh as a whole are begging for a new release, all of their kits are sooooooo old and outdated. I think a full range update for them is imminent

Yeah, the GK do not have an official primarch. Hints point to them being originally created from a mix of astartes from different chapters. There are also some hints that they may have been enhanced using material from the Emperor, which would make Him the closest thing to a primarch for the GK.

Add to that a screenshot in the Orks thread, implying a boxed set for July, Space Wolves in August, followed by an Emperor's Children release in the Fall, just before the Ork Codex hits.

Much to look forward to, without knowing what it is.

Grey Knights aren't a first founding chapter, so they don't have a special primarch like the other chapters [if they did, he'd be part of one of the other ones].

They're founded from Space Marines who were chapters that defected to Chaos, with some modifications, IIRC.

As for next Primarch, it's probably Lion'El Johnson if it's not Russ. I wouldn't bet against Leman Russ getting a 40k model soonish, though if the next one doesn't have an HH model, it can't be him. It also would probably accompany a major campaign release.

Also, there will be issues if Johnson is not resurrected by his handsome prince kissing him.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!
