In GH17 there are pages for Chaos & Destruction Allegiance Abilities which is not in GH18.

Are they no longer available ? or do we use GH17 which now means always carrying around 2 GH books ?

The basic Order, Chaos, Destruction, Death Allegiance Abilities are now in the basic rule book.

The Core Rule Book has a lot more than just the core rules.

I am confused as I am missing something.

I downloaded the core rules and it has nothing on the allegiance abilities for each grand alliance.

I have all the Grand Alliance Books.
GH 17
GH 18
and numerous Battletomes.

IN GH 17 it has the Allegiance Abilities & Artifacts for Order, Chaos, Death & Destructions along with others as Free People, etc.
in GH 18 it has almost all the same Allegiance Abilities & artifacts as in GH17 (free peoples, etc.) but missing Order, Chaos, Death & Destruction.

I would have thought they would have included in gh18. So do i use the ones from GH17 as that is later then the grand alliance books ?

The Core Rules are exactly what they say. Core rules.
They are not the complete rules section of the Core Book.
The Grand Alliance allegiances are in the "Conquest Unbound" section of the Core Book.

This is the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Core Book. It is a 320-page hardback book that retails for $60 US and is also available in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soul Wars boxed set. The Core Book contains much more than just the core rules.
