So I've recently got 6 Custodian Jetbikes which come with the ball and socket flying stand, and on all of them the socket is far too loose to hold the ball securely, meaning all my jetbikes simply tip over and fall off. Does anyone have any ways to fix this?

The few times I've used the provided ball and socket ones on my Eldar jetbikes, I do two things: A) replace the base with a larger, flatter base, and B) glue the post into the bike.

Now, if you're looking for a way to disassemble them for transport - magnets would be the way forward.

Chuck the flying stems in the bin and replace them with brass rod. That is all.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Same problem with my Custodes bikes. I thought about doing magnets but I'm pretty sure that if I knock them then a magnets would not keep them in position. I might try putting a pin on the end of the flight stand and drilling a hole into the bike to stop it from wobbling so much; I'll let you know how that goes!

And this is how I have my other flying models. Always a solid option.

You could just glue them, but if your goal is to make it so that you can remove them for storage, or pose them, then I suggest possibly putting some paint into the socket.

I've had Dark Eldar models with the ball and socket before and I always fully prime the model before painting. I wait until the prime is 110% dry before putting the ball in, and that seems to make it hold pretty tight.

To keep from gluing ours in place (transport/storage etc) we'll typically "roll out" a very small piece of blue tac, same material for mounting posters etc to the wall.. It doesn't dry out, and doesn't affix to the ball or socket permanently.. Just have to get it paper thin and drape it over the top half of the ball, then snap the bike on..

Corsec Engineering omni stand system. Metal rods that screw into the base and into a metal insert in the model.

If you'd like to retain the transparent aesthetic, try fitting them with clear acrylic rod.
Whether metal or acrylic, a cylindrical form will fit more stably than the ball.

Oh yeah, this is a good idea too.

I've used ball magnets on Eldar jetbikes, and it is too much trouble to do often.
For my Land Raider Storms, I glued the antenna array to the base stick, and magnetised it to the bottom of the speeder.
