Greetings from the Warp!

After being out of the hobby for a number of years, i have decided to get back into it! below will be my story, but don't worry, there will be a TLDR at the end of it.

So if you take a gander at my post history, you'll see i once posted something ages ago, but not much. I have been a lurker for years, but have never really braved posting my work publicly before. I have always wanted to do a project log but never have had the courage/motivation to do one. Now is the time to change that!

My brother and I first got into 40k when i was about 12 or so, so roughly 2004ish (if you want to do the math be my guest). My best friends brother got us all into it with his Eldar, showing us his collection. My parents bought my brother and I the Battle for Maccrage boxed set. It is Famously known as the only time my brother and I ever shared anything in our childhoods, because he loved the Tyranids and I wanted the Space Marines. looking back, it seemed like a boxed set was made just for us. It's famously known in my family as the only time in our childhoods that my brother and I ever shared anything. Over the years we expanded our collections with more models during Christmas, birthdays, or other holidays, until we had some pretty sizable forces. eventually i decided to start collecting Imperial guard in addition to my space marines, and by the time i was in high school we both had a roughly 2000 point force. during this time we played at a FLGS a few minutes away that our parents would drive us too. However when i was about a junior (11th year) in high school our FLGS changed ownership. It wasn't in a particularly nice neighborhood and the new owners used it as a... front for unsavory activities. the people we played with stopped showing up and we were forbidden from playing there. without an alternative we fell out of the hobby. Fast forward to 2014, my brother calls me (I'm now away in college) and asks me if i want to trade my IG/Space marines for his tyranids, as he is getting back into the hobby and wants to start a Necrons army, and someone was willing to trade him. I say yes, and a box of tyranids ends up in my storage unit back home. Fast Forward again to last year, Hurricane Harvey Hits. I and my Family Live in Houston, and my storage unit was in one of the worst areas affected by the storm. Luckily none of my family were harmed and we managed to get out of the storm rather unscathed, minus some of our personal belongings being ruined. Anyway, As I was going thru my boxes and throwing stuff away, i came across an untouched box of models. I figured I could sell them online for some extra cash, but no one bought them. Now I've been looking at them for a few months and started to get that damned plastic itch. I figured if I am not willing to put in the time to restore these miniatures, why should anybody else be willing to? so i decided to restore these tyranids and then sell them after I've put in the work.

Well that is how it started anyway. Now I'm totally back into the hobby and hope to stay, especially now that I'm older, I can afford it, and I can really appreciate it.

If you have read this far, Thank You! My story is meh. If not:
