Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

I just went onto the FW website to browse for some renegades to flesh out my converted guard with, only to find that the entire renegade line has been taken off their website.

Is it just me seeing this?
Have they mentioned anything about re-doing their renegade line?

Not sure about re-doing the line but they went up as last chance to buy about two weeks ago.

If you are interested in Forgeworld models in any way you should keep an eye on their website and the thread going on in news and rumours. They've purged about 50% of their model line so far in the last 2 months.

AoS is pure garbage
Kill Primaris, Kill the Primarchs. They don't belong in 40K
40K is fantasy in space, not sci-fi

The Renegades dated back to the old Vraks campaign from 4th or 5th and while I'll miss their inclusion it looks like they were never really big sellers (considering how few armies I've seen ever for them) so chances are when FW needed to redo their molds due to age/wear they went with removing the line instead.

That said, the rules are still around, but you'll need to do more conversion work to see them on the table unless GW proper drops a Traitor Guard codex with models for us to use.

8th rules were poop apart from one unit so I’d guess that was a final nail in their resin coffin.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

I'm someone who like to believe any unit has some utility even if it's not the best for the job, but even I couldn't find a way to salvage that mess into something playable.

The biggest part of the problem is the bookkeeping between units. If you rolled a set leadership value for the entire army instead of every unit (and then applied bonuses as required) it would have gone smoother. Or just give them the same LD as cultists.

There were definitely other problems too, but I always saw that one come up the most for people as no one enjoys turning their 40k game into a database management sim.

Unfortunately they are no longer with us

It stinks, but considering that there’s maybe a dozen people that played them let alone bought the fw models in 8th, it’s not a surprise

I've only every seen one Renegades army in person, the rest I've seen were online snapshots only.

It was a great idea, hampered by poorly balanced rules that restricted it to narrative play too much ultimately killing the army due to poor sales is my guess.

Great line of minis but you can kitbash R&H for a fraction of the cost. I think the GSC and Admech kits helped put the last nail in that lines coffin.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.
