Hello there!
I just wanted to make a short post of how the assembly of the new ruins in Kill Team box set turned
out. Maybe we can get a collection going so people who are in search of inspiration can see what
this kit has to offer.

First point out of way the molds are pretty and very 40k so if you are a fan of fans and skulls you
are at the right place.
More important how does everything assemlbe? Quite good. The only thing I am at war with are
the little filler bricks for the pillars. I was in constant doubt if I had enough and the quarter ones are
not easy to handle.
Which brings me to another minor issue the fitting. Use the floor tiles from the set itself or some other
help to get a 90° angle were you want it or you gonna have a bad time. Check first if all the parts really
fit the way you want before you start glueing them together. For me cutting away some plastic to
even it out did the job. One floortile was a little bent it still worked for me but for someone with other
construction plans it might end up in a very visible gaps.

Can you combine the new ruins with your Mechanicus buildings?
Yes and no. The hight of the floors is the same so putting them next to each other is no problem.
If you want to use the bits that connect the floortiles of the Mechanicus buildings with the ruins you
might run in some troubble because the holes at the edges are to small for the Mechanichus bits
and are a little bent down. Cross won't fit and longitudinal suffers from this strange downside bend.
I do not know why GW went not full compatible regarding the bits but they also have a history of
relying on their customers to fix bad design choices on their own.

So this is what I cam up with:

Just built the Sanctum Set.

On the corners, I’d advise having the floor sections cut and prepped just before you glue the wall sections together. These will help you get it all squared off.

In fact, I’d recommend getting the sub assemblies prepped before you start completing the stages shown. The cap stones in particular are again useful for getting your angles right.

Other than that, these kits are lovely to work with. You can see the development over the predecessor kits, and for me they feel a good bit more solid once built than the old kits.

Thanks for these comments.

I saw that these kits are manufactured in China. All of the previous plastic kits produced in China that I've bought have been noticeably inferior, in that the detail has been 'soft' and the finish has been poor. Are these up to the standard of other GW plastics?

The quality I would say is the same as the Adeptus Mechanicus terrain. I recognised no major miscasts or loss in detail.
