I started puting together my Genestealer Cults and I am big on magnetizing for options and changing wargear WYSIWYG. But after magnetizing for kill team I realized can you change a models wargear layout mid campaign? Ie if I don't want the pick for my named Neophyte Leader next game can I use the Chainsword for him same named Leader.

I don't think you can, as fiddling with gear is not the thing why you'd play this game. Something like Necromunda is far better for that itch.

#ConvertEverything blog with loyalist Death Guard in true and Epic scales. Also Titans and killer robots! C&C welcome.

It's less that you change out the wargear and more that you change out the whole model.

If you have, say, a GSC leader that's equipped with a Power Maul named Bobby and you decide you want to have your leader equipped with a Power Pick instead, you add a new model to your Command Roster and call him Jimmy, the GSC leader with a Power Pick. Then, when you go to make your Kill Team with models from your Command Roster, you pick either Bobby or Jimmy.

Now, there's nothing stopping you from naming both of them Bobby and claiming that it's just Bobby swapping equipment, but in a campaign your specialists gain experience for participating in the battle and using their tactics. In other words, Bobby and Jimmy could be at different levels throughout the campaign. However, higher levels means more points spent. There's a lot to consider.
