So we're seeing armies taking either the 3 Shield Captains on jetbikes, or the Blood Angels Smash Captains, possibly with scouts.

Points notwithstanding, which is better as an assault/counterassault/ unit?

I know with enough CP's a Smash Captain can almost take down a Knight.......

What would you take and why?

Smash Captain is this edition's melta suicide unit.

Shield Captains generally net you more playtime per round on average.

Smash Captain takes out something that nets your other units more playtime though!

Depends what you want/need.

Smash captain is a walking orbital strike that costs a whole guard detachments worth of CP to fire.

Shield captains khorne-style daemon princes - powerful and fast moving close combat characters.

Gravis captain is obviously the best.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.
