So, I'm reading through the Ork's stratagems and I've ran into something a bit janky.

GROT SHIELD
Use this tactic at the start of the Shooting phase.
Pick a model from your killteam that is within 2"
of a GRETCHIN model. Until the end of the phase,
while that Gretchin model is on the battlefield, any
attacks which target the chosen model are resolved
against that Gretchin model instead

Am I reading this right, the shooting attacks are now resolved against the Gretchin instead.
Does this mean that if the Gretchin is hidden (ie, no line of sight to him), the Ork is now basically immune to gun fire?

No, the grot dies.

It's effect happens after LOS is checked. You check LOS when you target, at which point the ork is in LOS. You then resolve it against the grot, regardless of whether it's in LOS.

Working from memory here so I might have missed something.
