Just a question.
Now that Primaris Marines are in nearly all Space Marine Chapters there is going to come a time when they earn the right to become part of the First Company.
How do people think this would be reflected in the game?
Special unit for Primaris? Or they keep same stats and just are included in Sternguard and Vanguard as normal?

Considering that there are Primaris Veteran Sergeants and Captains, even Chapter Masters, there already are veteran Primaris in the fluff. I hope we get get actual units soon. If they follow the same pattern as previous Primaris releases, they won't be just new versions of Sternguard etc, they will be something at least somewhat different.

I don't think they will have three wounds, unless they're some sort of Primaris Terminators (which I really want to see, Gravis just doesn't cut it as a terminator replacement.) Sergeants are/can be veterans, they don't have more wounds.

You'd think gravis would be a 3+ armour save and 6+ inv save or give you FNP on a 6+ Automatically Appended Next Post: But you can't make Primaris OP so........oh wait they did already

I'm sure we'd see something special since Marines seem to be moving to an aspect warrior style build with simple wargear choices (which arguably makes them better for new players since they don't have to consider as many thing other than which guns they like best, though the cynic in me says they're doing it to force you to buy different kits for every unit instead of a tactical box and then kitbashing from your bits bin for a unit) and I honestly hope we see some more melee focused units because Primaris lack a certain level of counter-punch when dragged in by melee armies.
Unless your Ultramarines since you can just walk out of combat and shoot things in the face.

Over pointed?
They should add overpointed to the hover filter for OP and totally confuse the boards for a day.
"Astra Militarum Company Commanders are OP!"
"I played against a Castellean and it's totally OP!"
"Grey Knights are OP!"
I'd take a day off work and buy a tub of popcorn

Imagine if, little over a year ago someone told you that:
-AM is OP
-SM is mid-tier
-Shining Spears are OP
-WK and Spiders are trash
-Berzerkers are NASTY
-DE will kick your ass
... You'd think they were crazy.
I wonder what things will be like next year.

AM being OP has happened before though (oh hai leafblower), and Marines have been mid-tier before (hi 6th and 7th edition before Demi-Company came out).
And DE were strong when they got their 5th ed update, so again, it's no really a shock.
Actually I'm sure most of those statements were true at one time or another in the past. Basically it's just the cycle of 40k: X is OP, Y is trash and Z is the sign of game falling apart and us needing a new edition.

I'm actually curious - have Shining Spears ever been not-trash before? Automatically Appended Next Post: Sorry, ignore that question, I'm derailing.
OT - yeah, there should be vet Primaris. But just how much stratiation do you want in 1 codex:
Scout < Battle-brother < Sarge < Vet < Vet Sarge < Termie == Primaris < Vet Primaris?
Making them feel 'right' and not crowding out things like Custodes is going to be hard.
Further, GW has said that future Primaris units won't be standins for existing PA Marine units (specifically about bikes, but their response was generic). I'd like Vet variants of Primaris for First Company reasons (even if it were just +1ppm for +1a, no model change), and expect them at some point, but we'll see.

Not necessarily. I've seen most of those things be true already.
