Hey guys,

Laid out my entire painted Gondor forces as they stand on in front of the walls of Minas Tirith. These are painted to tabletop standard, with a little extra focus on heroes.

I kept the palette limited with blacks, silvers and greys the only real colours allowed. I really wanted to replicate that cold look from the movies, and extensive highlighting of black cloth/gloves and making the straps brown leather seems to totally detract from that aesthetic for me. Likewise with bright brown bows and spears - this just doesn't match the movie look. I focused on nailing the definition and highlighting on the armour, given that's the real focal point of any Gondor army. I really made sure I highlighted that to give it a nice, sharp and bright shining look.

I don't have endless time to devote to hobby work so I also was conscious of actually being able to get models painted, which was another reason for the compromise on how much time I put into them. Also, the tree on Boromir's white flag hasn't been painted on yet as you can see but I hardly feel that constitutes as improper to post here.

Note: As with the paint scheme, these are going for the pure movie accurate look hence the lack of shields on my KoMT (and the mixture of lances with flags and bare lances) or GotFC. And yes - that is Pippin leading the line!

Army Composition:
Spoiler:

25 x Knights of Minas Tirith w/ 2 Standards
1x Aragorn King Mounted
1x Faramir Mounted
1x Boromir Captain of the White Tower
6x Citadel Guard w/ Spear
6x Citadel Guard w/ Bow
11x Warriors w/ Sword
10x Warriors w/ Spear
13x Warriors w/ Bow
6x Captains of Gondor
5x Standard Bearers
4x Guards of the Fountain Court
1x Faramir on Foot
1x Denethor
1x Armoured Pippin

Thanks for looking.

Lovely army there, absolutely nails the movie-accurate look.
