Loyalist, Codex-abiding Space Marines idiotically charging Ork Deff Dreads with Bolter and Chainsword only to get slaughter and no one say a thing.

Warp-maddened Chaos Space Marines charging into Loyalist gunline out in the open with Bolter and Chainsword nearly winning but for some crazy daemon-possessed dude showing up plus a Thunderhawk. People call it unfair and lore-breaking.

Tell me. Are fans toxic? Is the community full of Chaos Space Marines-loving people?

One is a highly stylised (read: un realistic) trailer for a subpar video game which didnt feature Chaos as a faction.
The other is from a dreadfully written, directed and executed attempt at a SM movie.
I dont get your post at all

This is accurate, codex-abiding space marines are always acting dumb. It's part of their fluff.

This is unfair, the lore is very clear that bolt barely slow a chaos space marine advance, and they are extremely resistant to psychic powers!

In a stylistic, artsy trailer. But it appears to be raining corpses from the sky that seem to impact with less force than they would if they simply fell out of a dining room chair, which should be more concerning than the guy running at the big Deff Dread with the most impractical weapon in 40k.
And when something's 'impractical' relative to the 40k universe, that's saying something. But if I were out for realism and pragmatism I'd probably be playing something other than 40k.
Warhammer 40k is like a burger called the Double Coronary Bypass- it's massive and nonsensical in so many ways, and some would say that it's ridiculous to indulge in it- but that's the selling point, otherwise you wouldn't be grinning when you order it alongside the largest legal beer serving that can be sold in the state. You didn't go to this burger joint for something practical, just like you don't go to a brothel to find a wife. You're here for a reason. Dig in.

A terribly-animated movie, campy and silly even at the time it was released. But you're shocked that a bunch of insane berserkers got slumped when they charged through a dust storm dumping pistol magazines on the run at a squad with stable firing positions, intersecting fields of fire, and superior range? Sure, some got close. But 'close' only counts with horse-shoes and hand grenades.

Uh... what?
Also, what 'community'? We aren't a 'community' by virtue of consuming a product, we are all different and have multiple different communities with their own unique metas and attitudes. Let's stop perpetuating that we are some great, unified group of individuals that have more in common than 'we consume and use this product and enjoy it'. Because beyond that, we're extremely different and the truth is- we will never get along as a whole, we will always be different, and having smaller little pockets of 'communities' is the best way to explain what we truly are. Because even in the relatively small city I live in, there are multiple communities that play 40k and they all have differences and rarely interact. Not because of rivalry or hatred or 'toxicity'- but just because they're different and appeal to different personalities and playstyles.
There are toxic people everywhere, and they aren't limited to 'Space Marine fans' by a long shot- in fact, some of the most toxic persons I've encountered explicitly HATE Space Marines. There are also people who would consider 'playing tournament lists' or 'refusing to play unpainted armies' as 'toxic'. I'm a part of a private gaming club that I helped to create, and because we're private and just don't allow any random person to walk through the door of a private residence and start playing on a table we've invested a LOT of time and money into without screening them and interviewing them and asking what they can contribute to the private club and having actual standards for behavior and requiring people to be adults- there are people who've said we're toxic, because they just didn't make the cut (and some didn't even make the interview).
Because of this, I'm afraid that 'toxic' is just going to eventually become another word that once had valid meaning, and now it just means 'I don't like how they do things'.
And I don't play Space Marines because I think they're better than any other army and can totally beat the crap out of anything else. I play them because I think they're cool, despite all their drawbacks and knowing full well they lack a lot of things that makes other armies extremely effective. I'm a narrative/casual player, and I like tales of heroism and selfless sacrifice, so even my losses are examples of valor and resilience in the face of overwhelming odds- something that bought the Guard time to mobilize a proper response and saved countless lives and resources for the Imperium.

Pardon my ignorance. I've been into the hobby (and somewhat the game) for over three years now. I knew Chaplains existed, but I didn't know they were psykers. I thought that was reserved only for librarians.

If you combine all of those and enjoy them at the same time, it actually causes a warp rift in the room and all the Chaos Gods give you a high five.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
