I have recently got into warhammer 40k and have played a few games with a friends team (Dark Angels) against another group of friends, after playing a few games i decided my preferred playstyle is a "im gonna charge into you and kill all your units up close" approach to my games as i feel this is badass and makes me feel so cool.

The two armies i found that caught my eye of doing this are Blood Angels and World Eaters and im not sure which one to choose, i don't really like being a space marine as i feel they are really overdone and are pretty plain, but i dont think this applies to Blood Angels as much and definitely not to World Eaters. If anyone has any advice for which one i should pick, as well as a few troops i could buy to start said army this would help me a lot!

thanks guys

I've played world eaters for over a decade because nothing is more satisfying than shredding you opponents with brute force. Chaos gets some really cool toys do do that with, especially if you get into forgeworld stuff.

Either way you have to supplement with some shooting stuff and for the most part either army gets the same stuff. With some minor differences.

If you're ever looking into competitive play, Blood angels usually do better than WE. But I think that the chaos side of things are much more interesting and fun. Most of the models for Imperium are boring lol.

Yeah i like the look of the World Eaters a lot, especially kharn. But i like the idea of guys with jump packs diving into battle swinging axes, and for some reason i picture World Eaters as being slow but brutal, this is why im so stuck

The playstyle is quite different. With a Chaos army, you always have a delivery problem. This was the reason for me to sell it.

Yeah, rhinos are the standard. But the new drills seem promising.

As a blood angels player myself, I'm more than a little biased. However blood angels do have more named characters and more units unique to them than world eaters do.

Well when GW feels like it and finally puts in the proper work for World Eaters they would be equal.
That beeing sad, FW is a thing and Zhufor is a damn nice model.

It is also easier to build a decent mono army out of World eaters then Blood angels, since cultists are a thing ( a mighty handy tool in the shed, even for fun games.)
Berzerkers are, even whilest old as a modell, still nice to look at or convert from. Depending on which way you want to go down dakka is still an option viable for World eaters, since kyborgs exist. Hellbrutes can pack a meaner punch.

AT OP: Raptors and warp talons are a thing, in some regards they do better then loyal counterparts.

I guess to compare (feel free to add anything so the poor sod can get a better picture):

Blood angels:
Pros:
Smashcaptains
Primaris hellblasters
Death company

Cons:
Marines
not really uniqe vehicles
Requires soup for effective CP generation to a degree, forcing you to also buy AM. (can also be great, really depends on what you want to do.)

World Eaters:
Pros:
Varied choice of good to great buff providing HQ's, all of those are also more then enough capable to rip apart enemy squads.
Daemon princes with(-out) wings especially with claws /overgrown shank
Against imperium explody death (death to the false emperor, which in melee can lead to additional attacks. Bonus points for berzerkeers since 2 melee phases back to back can rip through nearly everything)
Berzerkers, nuff said.
Autocannons, Inferno launchers. nuff said.
Cultists, with autoguns and the bonus attack, exist. Tide of traitors exist. (up to 160 pts recyclable cannonfodder, and a sacrifice to please (and milk/bloody) the khorne(flakes)) Did i mention they can outflank through that
Chaos Spawn.

Daemon engines
Daemon summoning

Neutral (boon ar pain):
Some of the units need Khorneification ( read more Skulls, the helmets, MOAR CHAINAXES, especially those things)

Cons:
No psykers, for fun games, not really a problem, competitive, eehhhhhh, especially since csm psy powers can hit hard.

A Mostly Renegades and Heretics blog.
GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.
