I was wondering whether anyone of you thought about playing with other units in Kill Team to spice things up a bit. I know they are not officially part of the rosters, but it would make sense narratively to bring, say, a Techmarine or a Tech-Priest to salvage an old piece of technology. The opposing Necrons would in turn be lead by a Cryptek to face the Marines and take the technology for themselves.

Figuring out the right balance seems like an obvious issue, but I feel like one could manage in most cases.

What is your opinion on this? Do you think GW will branch out the Kill Team rosters eventually and would you like it?

I doubt HQ's will ever be part of the army list - you can do some HQ lite conversions by dressing your Medic Specialist up as an Apothecary for example but the datasheets themselves will be excluded, if only because part of the appeal of Kill Team is that you can immediately get started with your faction with no more than two and probably just one box of models.

I do hope some other infantry choices get picked up, though. Necron list really needs lychguard to function...

I am still waiting for sentinels for AM.

Of course I would gladly see rules for vehicles even for narrative type missions like hit supply convoy or something like that.

As for other units balance can be kinda tricky. At my FLGS people tried to fight agains custodes using points and rules for them from 8th edition. Custodes tabled everything without even breaking sweat

Lol, I'm not surprised at that - T5 is hard enough to crack at Kill Team scale without giving it a 2+ save, a 5+ invuln and 3 wounds.

From a guard point of view, I would love to see some of the named characters (both from current and past editions). Harker, Gaunt, Schaeffer, the named Inquisitors.

I think they'd all be fluffy options, they're still T3 models and I don't think, other than the psychic powers, there's anything massively game breaking about most of those models.
Schaeffer, other than potentially giving him some other bonus, is basically playable as modelled as a tempestor or sergeant anyway.

The assassins would also be cool if they could make them work.

I think more armies and sub factions will be represented, specifically the ministorum and sisters of battle in the future. I think they've left those out specifically for the moment.

Inquisitors and their retinues were also curiously absent, being as there could be some awesome narrative games with them in.

I would like to add a heavy flamer tactical marine gunner in my Blood Angels killteam. Death Guard's plague spewer is better than a heavy flamer with reroll wound rolls of 1 and extra range and it costs 4p. Would you or your TO approve me to bring one with the above plague spewer cost?

Yeah, Necrons seem a bit bland at this point.

I wouldn't mind if instead of two boxes i could pick up one box and a HQ to start my killteam. I think it might be a good measure to diversify lists (and sales) in the long run. They could even boost sales for some of their HQ choices that aren't very good in 40k.

I'm hoping (expecting?) to also see some homebrew rules. Sometimes it is hard to tell which are good and which are not without actually playing them, though.

I'd like to see more eldar, specifically Scorpions and Banshees. My buddy has a handful of termies he used for space hulk and I would like to let him use those in our own personal group/campaign.

With the Rogue Trader expansion coming, we've gotten some glimpse of a pseudo HQ choice. I could see them eventually adding other things like an apothecary or a warlock at some point. The psychic phase is another area that will probably get expanded eventually since right now it's almost an after thought.
