Not exactly game-related, so I apologize if this is in the wrong section. (Though building dioramas with GW minis isn't out of the realm of possibility, especially if you don't play much.)

Just wondering if anyone has any resources for inexpensive glass or acrylic cases that could be used for small / medium dioramas. I've been bending over backwards searching online, and the best bang for your buck seems to be 10" square basketball display boxes, or possibly the smaller but more oblong football display cases. The cheapest I've seen either of these was still $40, and more often in the $60-$70 range.

Tbh, that's outrageous, and way overpriced, especially when you can get a freakin' 10-gallon aquarium for $10 bucks almost any day of the week at Petco.

For the diorama I have planned, I ended up going to Lowes and buying some pre-cut panes of 8"x10" Lexan, and a wooden plaque for a base, with the total cost coming out to around $32 (give or take for tax).

Still, I had to trim two of the lexan pieces to size, and I'm going to have to route a groove into the wood so that it sits still without sliding around (don't want to glue it down). So I'm curious if there's a supplier I should know about that offers reasonably cheap cases in various sizes?

Alternatively...what do YOU use when you want to protect your minis / scenes / terrain, etc.?

Dunno if you have access to one but daiso the japanese dollar store type place has display cases for cheap.

Also there is a website called wish. they sell really cheapo chinesium items for like stupid cheap and is a good place for things like bell jar displays and other display stuff. as well as stuff like train scale objects trees flock and stuff.

just use your paypal instead of giving them your actual card.

I can find one or two of their cases online (nothing local, I assure you), and they're certainly on the smaller side. Would be fine for certain projects, but I was hoping for more of a size range (My current idea incorporates at least 4 minis and I wanted room enough for the terrain to add some ambience, so something like what you linked would be way too confining). Still, for the price they're not bad.

(Edit) Wish wants me to sign up simply to browse the products, and along with your warning, I think I'll pass, even if it's a potentially good deal.

The lengths I went to to save a few bucks on a display case that was the size I wanted...

(The lexan was assembled with garden-variety superglue, which works surprisingly well, so long as you don't need it to be water / airtight.)
